yesterday I stumbled upon [this contest](https://steemit.com/minnowsupport/@inquiringtimes/welcoming-images-design-contest-round-4-win-10-20-steem) hosted by @inquiringtimes about designing a "welcome image" for new users. 

> [...] we are looking for fresh images with the word "Welcome" that are attractive and, convey what steem is about in a few words or an image, that look nice and friendly.

### The Claim
#
My basic idea was to find out, what's really special about Steem and Steemit. After some thinking, I came to the conclusion, that it's nearly the only blockchain, that is mainly used to talk and share information.

So I was looking for an image, that reflects the fun of talking and also has a reference to the blockchain topic. The best one, I could find, was a photo called <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/statefarm/9470385475">“Tetris hair”</a> by <i><a href="https://www.flickr.com/people/statefarm/">State Farm</a></i>, which is licensed under <a href="https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0">CC BY 2.0</a>.

### Tetris
#
Actually it wasn't the first time, I was thinking about [Tetris](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetris) to visualize blockchain technology in a fun way. So I was really happy to find [this Tetris girls](https://ccsearch.creativecommons.org/image/detail/VGJSmgup2Q6NaCpXUSez6A==), shot at the 2013 [San Diego Comic Con](https://secure.comic-con.org).

As my work is based on a <a rel="license" href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0/">CC-BY</a> license, I also have to share the finished design under the same license. I'm not sure, if this complies with the first rule of the contest:

I guess, this is more a design study, than a finished design. But hopefully someone feels inspired and wants to build on my idea.
