Buy Low and Sell High: Do you have the courage to do this?

I know that the most basic rule of investing is **buy low and sell high.** But in reality when the price of an investment is falling and is at an “all time low” How many have the courage to buy?

People love to ask rich people how they got rich. I like reading their answers and looking for clues. A popular answer is “buy low and sell high”.

Warren Buffett, the billionaire stock investor has probably been asked this same question many times. I have read many of his quotes and he has been paraphrased many times as well.

Here are a few of his answers which are I think variations on the “Buy Low Sell High” theme:

One: “Most people get interested in stocks when everyone else is interested and the price is high. The best time to get interested is when no one else is interested and the price is low”.

Two: “You can't buy what is popular and do well."

Three: “Investors should try to be fearful when others are greedy and greedy only when others are fearful."

Four: “The Stock Market is designed to transfer money from the Active to the Patient.”

Do you see the common theme?
When an investment is popular it’s price rises.
When an investments price starts falling it becomes unpopular and people sell it.
But the person who buys when the price is falling
The person who buys when something is unpopular...
The person who is brave when others are afraid...
The person who buys and holds patiently...

The person described above can profit from their investment for having the courage to buy when others are selling, to be brave when others are afraid, to be bold when others are timid. But it takes courage and it is not without risk. Their certainly are people who followed this advice and profited and I am sure there are some who didn’t.

Warren Buffet is also quoted as saying investing is part science and part art. I am not Warren Buffet. I am just sharing my thoughts.

**Closing thought**
There are less new investors in Bitcoin now at $6400.00 then there were at $16,000.00.
Think about that because that brings us back to my first question; When the price of an investment is falling how many have the courage to buy?

I think December and January are traditional bear market lows due to Bitcoin dominance and Chinese New Year due to Chinese Bitcoin dominance, which I say for lack of a better word.

The price is tempting .... I like to say fortune favors the bold. Regardless of when someone invests they at least need to be bold enough to do it. Putting cash on the line scares allot of people. Us gamblers are cut from a different cloth.
