What do I love the most about cryptocurrency...

# What do I love the most about cryptocurrency...

...and **DPOS**: **delegated proof of stake** on this platform?

## That is a hard question and an easy question.

### I know why I enjoy cryptocurrency, thats easy, but the hard part is picking one...

I like cryptocurrency because it's innovative and new.

I like cryptocurrency because it allows more social interactions.

I like cryptocurrency because it's mentally stimulating.

I like cryptocurrency because I feel a part of a special community.

I like cryptocurrency because it makes me part of something larger then myself, the whole **Sharing** or **gifting economy** is something very special.

#### The Gift Economy

I think if I had to choose, being a part of this *gift economy* is probably the biggest reason I like cryptocurrency.

I define the gift economy as one based on the idea that we are not in **economic competition** with each other, we are actually in **economic addition** to each other. By this I mean each relationship we build in our network of *friends* or **Followers**
as we call them here adds both to our *social wealth* and our *financial wealth*. When we follow someone and their pictures, or music or writing starts to show up on our *Feeds* we not only have a friend to enjoy our content or *consume* our content, but also to comment on it and send us a *tip* a small or large sum of money, which unlike any tip we have ever given in our life doesn't come from our wallet or personal funds, it comes from the reward pool. Which is self regenerating each day.

This is a truly amazing thing. But it's not the only great thing about this **gift economy** and cryptocurrency. Theres a second aspect to this wonderful system we are in.

#### Teaching Life Transformative knowledge

I really like how cryptocurrency and the Hive blockchain and Leofinance allows us the joy of teaching cryptocurrency and DPOS as more than interesting information, but as life changing information.

You see teaching people about this platform allows me to teach people how to make money, by monetizing social behavior, story telling and networking. These are normal skills, we all possess in varying amounts, but these skills can be refined, improved and magnified. Thus monetized. This skill provides knowlege that changes lives, because money changes everything.

Yes, **DPOS is a life changing system**

I love to teach, but I know people are not always interested in knowlege for knowlege's sake, because they need to put food on the table and a roof over their head.

But teaching about crypto is different because you teach people how to make money, you are not just giving them money through upvotes, you are both giving them money and showing them how to make money.

Thats why **DPOS is a life changing system**

And to me, that is the most rewarding thing about cryptocurrency generally, and DPOS the Steemit, Hive and Leo way specifically.

And when people get it, I mean when they realize what your trying to teach them, and they start to get how much freedom is contained in this knowlege... Thats the moment I realize I have made a difference.

#### A useful metaphor for how I feel is this...

I am just one person, walking on the shore, throwing stranded starfish back into the ocean so they can survive. And just because there are hundreds of stranded starfish, and I can't save them all, that doesn't stop me or deter me, because with each starfish I save by throwing them back into the ocean, what I do matters to that one.

So every time I realize that someone reading my article gets it, and now knows how to fish for themselves, and possibly never be hungry, I think what I do matters.

And thats all thats important.
**DPOS is a life changing system**

#### Exponential Impact...

But the best thing of all is that it doesn't stop with that one person...
The best part of all is that when I help one person, I think they turn around and help two others, then those two turn around and help four others, and those four turn around and help eight others, and so on and so on...

Everyone I help, can duplicate and multiply my efforts, and thats the best reward a teacher can have, an exponential impact.

So know you know my why, because **DPOS is a life changing system**

There are many different coins available but all in all i think the best thing about crypto is that it's breaking down barriers for people who live under authoritarian governments. It provides an income for those who maybe cannot find a stable income, and for creatives who rely on Soundcloud, YouTube, etc. For their income; It creates another avenue for them to generate an alternative source of income (especially to those who don't follow mainstream ideals and those who were 'canceled'.)
