MORGAN SILVER DOLLARS......PART OF OUR SILVER HISTORY!!!

The Morgan Silver Dollar is one of the most beautiful of US minted silver coins.  The engraver  of this coin was George T. Morgan.  It was minted from 1878-1904, the minting was suspended after 1904 because of low demand and the supply of silver dollars was exhausted.  Then for one year, in 1921, the Morgan Dollar was again minted only to be replaced by the Peace Dollar in 1922.  

A vast amount of these Silver dollars were " sold by the GSA General Services Administration that were stored in large bags.  These were graded a lower quality because of these  " bag marks", but were uncirculated and still beautiful coins.

I grew up collecting coins and pressing them into the Whitman coin folders.  I thought that the Whitman folders were all but gone until I went into my local Hobby Lobby store today.  They have a vast assortment of these Whitman coin folders to help encourage young coin collectors.  Although these coin folders can damage coins,  the sense of accomplishment upon filling one is awesome.  As a young kid, I remember using a spoon to force silver coins into the pressed board folder.  When they became loose, I would tape them in so they wouldn't fall out..........kids!

For the lesser value circulated coins-these are great.
