The British Museum in London is one of the must go places if you ever visit UK.  When I used to live in London, I used to go every few months as there's always something new things to see.

The most remarkable feature at the British Museum has to be the Great Court.  When this area was originally built, it was supposed to be a garden.  Later on in 1852 a Reading room was built along with many bookstacks to house the museum's library.  In 1997, the library was relocated, freeing up this space again.  The British Museum redesigned this space and added a glass ceiling to it.  There are over 3000 glass panes here.  The Reading room still dominates the center of the Great court today.

Apart from this beautiful Grand Court, I want to give you a few more reasons why I highly recommend a visit to the British Museum.  First of all, it is free.  London is an expensive city, that's a fact.  However there are quite a few good museums that are free and the British Museum is one of them.  Second, it is located at Bloomsbury which is one of the most prestigious part of London.  After you visit the British Museum, it is lovely to wander around the area.  

Third, the architecture of the museum is an art in itself. I love these grand staircase.  Walking up them feels like walking in a traditional presitige English house.

Fourth and the most important, is their vast collection of art and artefact.  The British Museum has around 13 million objects but only display 1% of them.  They change the displays very frequently that's why everytime I come there's always something new to see.
