The Bell for New Year in the Corner of Museum
Like other countries, it was very important to declare the new year in Choson Kingdom.
Because time is the most important element when it comes to ruling country in the agricultural society.
So, Choson was the first country in history in making water clock.

In Choson dynasty, striking the Bell was a popular way of announcing time in the center of the city.
So the name of the main street in Seoul was named after the Bell.
Jong Ro means Bell Street in literally.

I thought the bell in Jong Ro street was the original one until I saw the real one in the corner of the Museum.
As finishing to look around the relics in the park of the museum, I walked along the alley to the Museum.
I saw the Bell. It was Bo Sin Kak Jong

The explanation board explained this bell was original. 
It caused me curiosity on the bell.
So getting closer, I looked the bell carefully.
This Bell could be said Confucian Bell. 
Unlike other bells in Buddhist temple, there was no patterns and the ornaments on the body of the bell.
It seemed to show the temperance in Confucian virtue.

What I noticed on the top of the bell was there was no sound tube which could be found in Buddhist Bell in Korean temple. Sound tube of Buddhist bell is very special and unique founded in Korean Bell.
I don't estimate why there was no sound tube in this Bell. 
But in my guess, Confucian scholars didn't want to follow the way of Buddhists.
It was interesting.
