To be myself... That is something I am learning. You would never realize it but so many things, such as jobs, can real make your sense of self be hidden being you must conform to an idea or an image the job requires. I spent 4 years in high school ROTC followed by 4 years in the Army Infantry they break you spirit to get you to conform to what they want. At the time I was totally unaware of all this, but looking back I can see it is so true, many times in formation they would make me do pushups simply because I was happy, could not hide it at first but over years of this punishment you learn to hide. So now for me the question then lies is "who am i?" That is what I'm learning right now.

You're lucky because you realize it's important to find out who you really are, and what you like. Most adults don't even make it that far. Your comment makes me happy because I can tell you're being totally honest. It's honest communication that can change us. So few people will tell you honestly about life, about what matters. So, for this, your comment has made my time here worthwhile. If you find out who you are, make sure to write about it. Maybe the same thing will happen to them that happened to you today.....
