WWJD-Say About Abortion?

Wow. I never saw this coming: The ‘Abolishment’ of Roe v. Wade.

Really.

I mean great news; but, really?

Well, not quite. It seems that *some* states are making abortion a criminal act; punishable of crimes associated with murder.

Whoa. Tell me that's not a serious swing of the pendulum.

Of course, this leads me to query in thought:

What Would Jesus Say About Abortion?

Oh dear goodness. This reminds me of the shortest sentence in the Bible:

Jesus wept.

Yes, beloved. I do believe as Jesus hung on the Cross, that Good Friday, at the young age of 33, for sinners past, present, and future, He had to experience the horror of seeing God’s precious children being ripped from the womb of the mothers, with the mother’s consent.

Yes, Jesus wept.

In honesty, just thinking about the barbarism associated with the removal of the fetus makes me literally smh…and hold my breath. (Breathe @spiritualmatters…breathe).

But, to stay on track, it seems that “the people” are turning their hearts away from abortion.

Now, to sum things up; yes, I do believe abortion; aka, the act of harming a child, crushes the heart of Jesus.

On the one hand, remember it was He who said:

+ Suffer the little children to come unto me…

It was Jesus who said:

+ Anyone who harms the children would do better to tie a millstone around their neck; for this would be His punishment for them.

In the OT, it was God who said that a man who has his quiver full of children is blessed.

So, long story short, it’s safe to say Jesus, and His Father value/treasure the defenseless children.

That said, on the other hand, God gives everyone free will. A brief reminder: For every sin there is a consequence. The wage of sin is death; with death being a disconnection with the Peace of God.

Now, this doesn’t mean that everyone will be tormented. Some have hearts that are so hardened that their conscience is seared; tougher than leather.

But, let's get back to the other hand and free will.

I do believe that Jesus would put abortion under the category of obeying the laws of God and of man.

God says, “Thou shalt not kill.”

Any woman who signs up for the annihilation of a living being in her womb is in essence committing murder. There’s no escaping this truth. We might could have a Darwinistic-type argument if the ultrasounds weren’t so clear; and/or if a baby didn’t emerge from the body in nine months. But, ughm, yeah…pretty clear…abortion is murder.

But, according to the laws of man, in some states abortion is as legal as a facelift. If you want one, or as many as you like, pay the price in dollars and bada bing bada boom…problem solved; or so satan would have you believe.

However, talk to many a mom out there who regrets her decision decades later, and well the consequence for the sin does come due.

Yes, I do believe that abortion is a sin. If God sees fit to plant the seed, I encourage people to either grow it on their own, or find a responsible home to place the child in. You have NINE WHOLE MONTHS.

I grew up in a time, particularly in rural areas, children would live with relatives who didn’t have children for periods of time, if the burdens of parenting became too much on the rare occasion. Family and extended families were vital; something which I have to admit is missing in today’s society.

Everyone wants to be independent; self-absorbed.

Anyhoo, that’s off track. Because Jesus says to obey the laws of God and of man; I do believe God’s law trumps man’s law. However, if man says it’s okay to abort your child, then, well, shrugging my shoulders…I got nothing.

To end this discussion…I believe Jesus would have a very good and strong parable to offer regarding abortion for those in debate on the topic. I do believe He would do everything He could to dissuade a person from this act. And, yet again, He might be as I am in spirit right now, unable to speak, only drawing some markings in the sand that send the people who judge away, one by one.

But, I also believe that at the end of the Truth, Jesus would leave it to the person to make the final decision.

For this reason, I am 100% anti abortion; but, because some states deem this act legal, I respect the rights of those who have the conscience or perhaps even desperation to rationalize their Truth away.

All I know is at the end of the Day, God alone will hold us accountable for our choices. Only He can know whom He will forgive, and whom He will condemn.

I’m sure, as I smh, there are some people whose stories are so heinous that God in His Mercy will forgive them. In fact, He will forgive all who ask for His forgiveness; but, the consequential actions He doles out, again, will all be according to His Judgments, and not for anyone in human form to condemn.

The best we can do is pray. And when we get done praying, pray some more.

Abortion is not an end all, cure all. I’ve spoken with far too many broken mothers, who decades removed, remember the birthdays of the children they aborted.

Tough cookie I am, but it breaks my heart to see their brokenness. Stoic I remain; because I know that remorse is a sign of hope; a perpetual penance/cleansing of a sinful act done, often in a time of extreme desperation.

Do I want to see abortion abolished?

Wow. I will refrain from my comment.

Yes I wish the children never had to die at the hands of the mother, in the womb or as a toddler who just got in the way of a moment of rage.

But, if a brutal death, done by a mother, in their age of innocence will be their fate, wow…smh…heart-breaking...gotta’ step away on this one.

On behalf of all the mothers in prison for killing their child, and for all the children who were aborted in the womb, I can’t speak. For to speak would be to judge; and to judge would be to risk condemnation.

Cop out?

Nope…just sometimes gotta’ leave life’s choices between God and the individual involved.

Peace.
