I'll be honest, with trying to write a blog that someone would be interested in reading is actually difficult for me. Growing up, I loved writing, singing, acting, the works. I found, growing older, that all of it became more difficult for me. I start to write stuff, and find I stuggle with being able to express myself. I struggle with being able to write exactly what I'm thinking and feeling in the moment. When I talk, it's much easier. Ask @jessamynorchard, she and I have talked at length about my photography on more than one occassion. I can tell you all sorts of stuff in those moments about my photos. But taking that emotion, and putting it out on "paper" in a way that people will enjoy reading, it's completely different. Incredibly difficult. So with what I just said, I hope my posts aren't too boring...

Last Saturday, my husband and I got to go to the PSCA Shooting Tournament through his work. He works for Fiocchi of America, and they provided the ammunition for the tournament that was located at Bass Pro's new Outdoor Shooting Academy. Part of the tournament included an air show which is where these photos come from. All three photos were taken using a Canon 7d Mark ii. I love this camera. I personally chose this camera because it has a faster shutter speed (10 fps) and the 65 point focus. When I was researching cameras, this one was pointed out to me because I was inquiring about cameras that were good for sports shooting. At the time, I wanted something that could keep up with kids playing in general (If you have never tried to get a kid to stop playing and pose for a photo, try it sometime, it's not easy!), and sports, including motorcross. Plus many other things. When you are deciding on buying a camera, think of all the ways you really want to use it, and make sure it can do what you want. I love how well this camera can take photos with movement. And a lot of other people get a kick out of the noise it makes when I hold the shutter button down and it just keeps rapidly taking photos (I'll admit, I love that sound too!).
With the editing, all three had the hue and brightness/contrast adjusted. And  the first two had local tone mapping and vibrancy adjusted. Since these were taken around 6pm and the sun was setting, it added a sharp contrast to all of the photos I didn't like, so I had to work with that. Oh yeah, I also removed noise, which softens the photos a bit.
