From a young age, I like to plant different trees, especially different types of flowering plants and small fruit trees. We have a lot of vacant land in front of my house. I plant the trees there. When the first lockdown was going on last year due to the corona virus, I surrounded my house with bamboo. As a result, I can now plant trees with more certainty. Because now the trees can no longer destroy the cows and goats in the open field.
ছোটবেলা থেকেই আমি বিভিন্ন গাছ লাগাতে পছন্দ করি, বিশেষত বিভিন্ন রকমের ফুল গাছ ও ছোট ছোট ফলের গাছ। আমার বাড়ির সামনে চারপাশে আমাদের বেশ খালি জমি পড়ে থাকে। আমি গাছগুলো মূলত সেখানেই লাগাই। গতবছর যখন করোনা ভাইরাসের কারণে প্রথম লকডাউন চলছিল, তখন আমি আমার বাড়ির চারপাশে বাঁশ দিয়ে ঘিরেছিলাম। ফলে এখন আমি আরো নিশ্চিতভাবেই গাছ লাগাতে পারি। কারণ এখন গাছগুলো আর খোলামাঠের গরু-ছাগল নষ্ট করতে পারেনা।
I came home ten days ago. Because the biggest festival of Muslims is waiting for Eid. When I am not at home, my mother takes care of the trees. A few days ago when I got home I went to a nursery to buy some trees. One of my friends Asif and I took a motorcycle together. The nursery is about 10 kilometers away from my house. There I went to buy a variety of tree saplings. But I was able to buy only two types of trees, the rest of the trees are not in that nursery now. The caretaker told me to go back in a few days. I can buy the trees then.
গত দশ দিন আগে আমি বাসায় এসেছি। কারণ সামনে মুসলিমদের সব থেকে বড় উৎসব ঈদ অপেক্ষা করছে। আমি যখন বাসায় থাকিনা, তখন আমার মা গাছগুলোর দেখাশোনা করে। কয়েকদিন আগে বাসায় এসেই আমি একটি নার্সারিতে গিয়েছিলাম কিছু গাছ কেনার জন্য। আমার এক বন্ধু আসিফ এবং আমি একসাথে মটর সাইকেল নিয়ে গিয়েছিলাম। নার্সারি টি আমার বাড়ি থেকে প্রায় ১০ কিলোমিটার দূরে। সেখানে আমি বেশ কয়েক রকম গাছের চারা কেনার জন্য গিয়েছিলাম। কিন্তু আমি মাত্র দুই রকম গাছ কিনতে পেরেছি, বাকি গাছগুলো এখন ওই নার্সারিতে নাই। সেখানকার কেয়ারটেকার আমাকে কয়েকদিন পরে আবার যেতে বলেছে। গাছগুলো তখন আমি কিনতে পারবো।
From there I bought rose seedlings and papaya seedlings. There was also a desire to buy Mini Togger saplings, but the saplings were not bought as they are still very small.
সেখান থেকে আমি গোলাপ ফুলের চারা এবং পেঁপে এর চারা কিনেছিলাম। মিনি টগরের চারা কেনার ও ইচ্ছা ছিল, কিন্তু চারা গুলা এখনও অনেক ছোট হওয়ায় কেনা হয়নি।
Anyway, I bought papaya and rose seedlings and planted them. They have become very beautiful now.
যায়হোক, পেঁপে এবং গোলাপ ফুলের চারা কিনে এনে আমি লাগিয়ে দিয়েছি। সেগুলা এখন বেশ সুন্দর হয়ে গেছে।
The tree is our best friend. We cannot survive on earth without trees. But the way we've been cutting down trees for the last few years, the world is fast becoming a desert. You will be surprised to hear that the humidity in Bangladesh has dropped to a record level this year. These are very bad symptoms. We are leading ourselves to destruction by cutting down trees indiscriminately. So we should stop cutting down trees now and plant more and more trees. Many thanks to everyone.
গাছ আমাদের পরম বন্ধু। গাছ ছারা আমরা পৃথিবীতে বেঁচে থাকতে পারিনা। কিন্তু গত কয়েক বছর ধরে আমরা যেভাবে গাছ কেটে উজার করছি, তাতে পৃথিবী দ্রুত মরুভূমি হওয়ার দিকে এগিয়ে চলেছে। শুনে অবাক হবেন যে, এবছর বাংলাদেশে বাতাসের আদ্রতা রেকর্ড পরিমান কমে গেছে। এগুলা খুবই খারাপ লক্ষণ। আমরা নিজেরাই নিজেদেরকে ধ্বংসের দিকে এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাচ্ছি নির্বিচারে গাছ কেটে। তাই আমাদের এখনই উচিৎ গাছ কাটা বন্ধ করা এবং বেশি বেশি গাছ রোপণ করা। সবাইকে অসংখ্য ধন্যবাদ।
