I've been in the platform for nearly five months. While this is not the first time we are interacting with Steemians in person, this experience is quite different from @dandalion and my experience so far. In this post ***[A First Personal Encounter with Another Steemian](https://steemit.com/steemit-help/@steemitph/the-human-behind-cryptopie-or-a-first-personal-encounter-with-another-steemian)*** I spoke about our very first personal engagement with another Steemian when we visited ***@cryptopie***. This was followed by a couple of outreach events where we worked with ***@steemph*** and ***@flabbergast-art's*** ***Project Alinaga*** in ***[A Day of Hug & Love with Art & Music](https://steemit.com/steemph/@steemitph/a-day-of-hug-and-love-with-art-and-music-or-a-steemph-outreach-and-steemit-promotion-event)***, and ***[Future Educators & Out of School Youth in One SteemPH Event](https://steemit.com/sndbox/@steemitph/future-educators-and-out-of-school-youth-in-one-steemph-event)***. 

In the recently held SteemPH Year-Ender Dinner we had a chance to have more relaxed conversations with the participants in in contrast with the required haste, and hard work in doing an outreach or charity event.

My family arrived at Romulo Cafe, in Tomas Morato Quezon City at 5:45PM from a 40 Kilometers drive from Malolos, Bulacan. Yep, my whole family attended ***@dandalion*** (my wife Danda), ***@dandalioncub*** (our first born Lucy), ***@littlesteemitph*** (Sam our youngest), and myself ***@steemitph***.

We were seated beside ***@chinito*** and ***@jazzybells*** shown here as the night's host ***@luvabi*** is introducing a talk about ***@sndbox*** by ***@dreamiely*** and yours truly.

Here is Sndbox fellows ***@dreamiely*** and myself giving a brief talk about Sndbox. We introduced Sndbox to the group as an incubator for the creative that they are, as a great help in our community building efforts in the Philippines, their Sndcastle program including the ***@steemph.cebu*** arm. We also spoke about the current process in joining the fellowship, how one can get noticed by existing fellowship members, the obligations and benefits from being a Sndbox fellow. We answered about four or five clarifying questions mostly related to getting into Sndbox after the talk.

***Petmalu Lodi of the Year*** awardee ***@deveerei*** spoke about the many things he is doing within the community. In the below photo he was giving a talk about ***@curie*** and ***@bayanihan*** curation effort. He is a Curie curator along with ***@zararina*** who is also present in the event.

Dev later on spoke about @utopian-io where he is a moderator. He walked us through the ***utopian.io*** website, showed us the many different categories in which anyone can contribute, gave us some ideas on how rewarding it can be to contribute to open-source project through the utopian platform, and answered a few questions from the group.

Steem witnesses ***@precise*** and ***@steemgigs*** (@surpassinggoogle) both based in Manila also made it to the event as shown in the photos to the left. 

***@precise*** was doing a talk about the roles of Steem witnesses, what they do, some technical aspects of running a witness node, how are witnesses compensated, the Ask Me Anything sessions he hosts in the ***[Steemit Philippines](https://discord.gg/S3bUDKf)*** discord server, and projects in the pipeline.

Still grieving the recent loss of his mother, ***@surpassinggoogle*** still made it to the event. He can be seen being presented with the ***Best in Moral Support*** award for always looking out for not only the Philippine based Steemians but the whole community, specially those from developing nations.

The night was capped by distributing these souvenirs c/o ***@zararina*** and the fun awards organized by ***@dreamiely***. We left the place at 10:00PM to take a 40KM drive back to our home in Bulacan. Can't really complain knowing that ***@jon24jon24*** came from Baguio (200+KM) and will have to travel right back after the event.

We left from the event feeling glad that we are now able to put the face behind the comments, the upvotes, the discord chat, and the numerous DMs. We left feeling more confident about the future of Steem and Steemit because of the amazing people behind the platform, not just Steemit Inc., but all of us Steemians.
