If you have been following my journey for a while, you may have seen me write about British Columbia, and how utterly obsessed I am with the beauty the West Coast holds.
Before I get there, let me mention that it was at the beginning of 2018, that I finally found the career that I want to pursue in my future: Becoming a social worker.
The best part is that at the last session I had with the social worker I saw in 2017, she made us trade places.
I sat on her chair and pretended I was the social worker, and she was the patient.
At this precise moment, I knew that this is what I wanted to do with my life.
I knew that this is the job that would bring me fulfilment.
This will be my way to give back to my community.
I have spent the past six months reading books every day and doing research on many topics, the first being psychology.
I first started doing it to work on myself and heal my emotional wounds, until I realized that  one day, I want to help others do the same.

Fun fact of the day: (is it?🙊)
 Today, I had my first session with my psychologist. 
As I was telling him my life journey, and explaining what has happenned between the years 2014 to 2017 (years during which my life was crazier than an upside down rollercoaster🙉), he looked stunned.
He told me these words: ''Sabrina, there is a paradox in what you are telling me.
It's as if you are revealing the story of someone else. 
You don't sound in any way as the same person you were in your story.''

It really blew me away when he said that because that's how I have been feeling the past couple of months.

This year more than ever, I realized that in the future, when I will have my own place, I want to establish myself in a place surrounded by nature.
And the more I think about it, the more I think about establishing myself in British Columbia after my studies.
I've been falling in love with Google Earth recently, and now I love to spend time on there to explore the world, and where I'd like to live.
It's a very enlightening feeling to know the world we live in. 	✈	🌎
Moreover, my last name does not appear on my Steemit profile, but I will no longer keep it a secret, it is Quesnel. (Alias Sabrina Quesnel hehe 😚)
I am adding this detail because believe it or not, the town to which I would like to move one day, in British Columbia, is called Quesnel....

Imagine how funny it's going to be when I receive letters from the mail, eh!
All kidding aside, Quesnel is a tiny city located in the Cariboo District in BC.
Other fun fact: they even have a motto which says: "Quesnel: It's in our nature"
How freaking awesome is that!!! I'm psychic with my ancestors or what!!!😍
I think it'd be the perfect place for someone like me who craves a peaceful environment.

It would make not only my day, but my entire month!!!	😻)

I was never able to envision a future for myself that was positive, in the sense that I never thought I could make it in this tough world. 
However, for the first time, with all the progress I have made this year, I see the potential within myself. 
My confidence slowly started to grow.
 That is, a  healthy dose of self-esteem which relies on myself, my values, and that does not depend on validation from unimportant people.
This will sound extremely dark, but every since I was young and sad, I always thought I would end up committing suicide before being 30 years old. 
I just could not see myself being able to be self-sufficient, hold a full-time job, and survive in today's world.
But as of now, I feel entirely different.
And my long term life goals which I have shared with you, gives me hope and happiness.
I believe it is essential to have dreams and goals, as little or as big as they may be.
As in the end, they give us something to look forward to: another reason to keep on going and hanging on.💟
While life will always be difficult, some tools can without a doubt, make it easier.

Talking about dreams (the ones we make at night now hihi	🌛) , I'd like to share with you some interesting things I read in a scientific magazine this morning, while at the library.
According to an irish philosopher and neuroscientist, Antti Revonsuo,  claims that dreams help us to adapt ourselves to face difficult and dangerous situations in the real world. 
His theory is partly based on the evolutionary 	hypothesis, which indicates that every biological mechanism responds to a function of the organism, otherwise, it would have disappeared throughout the process of the evolution of mankind.
So dreams must have a function, right?	🙈
He also adds, that during our dreams, our emotions and perceptions are very strong, and most of the time, they are negative. 
He notes that in that way, dreams may help us to simulate certain behaviors to dangerous situations, which is done in an environment without any real danger. (cuz we end up waking up, right? 	😏)
I was blown away by this fascinating theory.
Maybe our dreams are sort of a game to prepare us for the trials we will face in the real world!
God knows! 	😉🌠
This reminds me of the popular saying ''Stop dreaming, start doing''.

We shall not forget that our dreams are worth every step of the way.
