The crypto markets continue to screw around this week, but are at least showing signs of resistance at these levels. Prices have bounced of these lows several times now in the past weeks so hopefully that is a good thing. If we are in this for the long run, pushing blockchain as *"the next best thing since sliced bread"*, then these little bumps in the road should not have such a dramatic effect on the prices. However, as I have said before, they definitely should not all come crashing down in unison, given that so many serve different purposes and should not be tied directly to the movements in BTC.
## Great things are coming...
As fast as the weeks seem to be flying by lately, one good take away is that we are coming closer and closer to the launch of several new community platforms/chains with each passing week.
If you have been joining us for our **Bitshares Hangout and EOSTalk Live** events each week then you have been hearing many hints and behind-the-scenes secrets that will put you in a better position to prosper from all the new projects, platforms, and tools that are under development and coming your way over the next several months. *Sometimes the juiciest tidbits, like MASDACS.io, Project Milkbox and Whaleshares are dropped in the after parties.*
As I have been saying for a while now, 2018 will be a great year **for all of us willing to keep our eyes and options open**. Soon enough we will see how this whole crypto-based social media thing shakes out. Thank you to everyone who helped make it another great week, *my 39th here on Steemit.*

## BeyondBitcoin / Whaleshares ##
I am continuing to help coordinate the weekly art and community building challenges for @OfficialFuzzy. These challenges are a great way to bring people together and spread the work about important topics in a fun way that people will remember. *From time to time I will participate just for fun to add my point-of-view to the mix, even though I cannot officially enter the contests myself since I help in the community judging process.*
This past week we continued to focus our community efforts on the new MASDACS cross-chain posting platform. We launched the second BETA Testing bounty giving everyone a chance to try the service and earn some tokens for helping us fix an bugs and make improvements. This BETA testing bounty will continue as we add on more features, so please keep an eye out for those posts and help us where you can. We are always so proud of everyone who takes the time to participate in the different challenges, these help build the community and open up opportunities for even more people to earn rewards here on Steemit *and beyond*.

What is MASDACS? Meaning Mutual Aid Society (MAS) Decentralized Autonomous Communities (DACS), MASDACS is where all your favorite platforms out there such as Steemit, Golos and Medium meet in one central publishing hub. We are currently in a testing phase for this project.

The new Smoke Network website has been launched and a new UX prototype is live for everyone to check out. There was **BIG NEWS** from VICE this week.
The VIT team announced they will **NO LONGER** be airdropping tokens on STEEM holders. This is great news for everyone who was concerned about the possibility of allowing the same unbalanced distribution of token stake and the negative behavior by the top STEEM Whales that has created here on Steemit to spill over to the VICE chain. Instead they announced a MAJOR crowdfund bonus of 50% to ALL previous and future Vice Token purchases until the crowdfund closes on March 20th.
Playboy announced it will be incorporating VICE Tokens as part of their move to accept crypto in exchange for some services. This adds on more major player to the growing list partners.

DPORN is movign closer to a functional APLHA release, there was a slight delay in coding that pushed back the earlier date they were hoping for. There have been some test videos uploaded as they continue with the initial testing. This may be the last few days to pick up PORND tokens from the DEX. *The tokens are a βstakeβ in the platform and will earn dividends daily ( shared profit from the site).* Be sure to check out the DPorn Discord to get more info on this.
