Day 10 of the 2018 Winter Olympics is in the books and we are back with another medal count update. There were several events that gave out medals on the 10th day of action. Norway continues to look unstoppable in the medal race and they added two more to their total. They now have 28 total medals including 11 Golds. They are leading every country in those categories. The Germans are in second place with 20 total medals and 10 Golds. Canada remains in third with 17 total medals and the Netherlands are in fourth place with 13.

One of the stars of day 10 was Havard Lorentzen of Norway. He had the performance of his life on the ice track. Lorentzen won the men’s 500 meter in Speed Skating in exciting fashion. This was the first ever Olympic medal for the 25 year old athlete. He is also competitive in the 1,000 and 1,500 meter races and this won’t be the last time he spends time on an Olympic podium.

Another big star of yesterday was the United States Women’s Hockey Team. Team USA is playing fantastic and now have their sights set on the Gold medal game. They blew out Finland in the semi finals by a score of 5-0. Everything was clicking for the ladies and they will now take on the Olympic favorite Canadian Women’s Team. This Gold medal game will be an exciting one. The Team USA squad hasn’t won Gold in this event since 1998.

Day 11 will be another opportunity for new stars and heros to be crowned.  There will several medals handed out today and the hockey events are even closer to the medal rounds. We will be back later with another Olympic Medal Count Update and highlight some of the stars of Day 11.
