Nate Diaz is one of the most prolific fighters in the UFC and rarely does he communicate with the public so updates from the man himself are seldom to say the least. His most recent update left the MMA community with many questions that were left unanswered.

On Friday, Diaz dropped a tweet on social media. In the cryptic message, he claimed that the UFC offered him a title shot in “any weight class,” he also made it clear that he would most likely turn down the proposal saying it was time to move on “to the next sport for now.” Finally he left his fans with a pair of boxing glove emojis. I wonder what he could have meant?<hr>

Apparently, Diaz hasn't stepped in the ring since August of last year, when he faced Conor McGregor at UFC 202. The fight didn't end well as McGregor gained victory by majority decision. This gave McGregor a new stride because the last time he faced Diaz it ended in a submission loss for him at UFC 196. Both matches set new records as they were two of the highest-grossing events in UFC history.

McGregor and Diaz were in the process of setting up a trilogy bout, but McGregor went another direction challenging and deafeating Eddie Alvarez which resulted in him becoming UFC lightweight championship at UFC 205. It was on to bigger and better things after that as he managed to set up a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr. in August 2017.<hr>

Considering another McGregor match doesn't seem to be materializing anytime soon, Diaz is weighing his options. He recently made a sincere effort to get into professional boxing when he applied for and received a license to box in the state of California (he has also applied for a license in Nevada), but there are also rumors of a possible fight with UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley for Dec. 30 at UFC 219.

Diaz is one of the most talented and impressive MMA fighters in the world so it's quite likely that he has a lot of leverage when it comes to his negotiations with the UFC.
