Damian Lillard scored 24 points and CJ McCollum added 29 points as the Portland Trail Blazers’ earned their 11th straight win in a 113-105 victory over LeBron and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night. It's their longest run since winning 11 in a row back in 2013 and also their eighth straight win at home.

LeBron James had a big scoring night, grabbing hold of 35 points including a highlight reel dunk in the first quarter on Jusuf Nurkic that stunned the crowd momentarily. James also had 14 rebounds to go along with his 6 assists for his 6th straight double-double. Korver added 19 points with three 3-pointers. Jeff Green had 16 points and Jordan Clarkson scored 14 points. Blazers were led by as many as 15 points in the third quarter and kept the lead up to double digits until the final quarter but George Hill and LeBron’s layups put the Cavaliers onward 105-99 with three and a half minutes remaining.

Then Hill’s three pointer brought Cleveland within three points; but Al-Faqouq Aminu secured his own three pointer and Evan Turner’s jump shot held off Cleveland’s run. Jordan Clarkson then proceeded to hit another three-pointer and made it 110-105, but LeBron missed a layup with 33 seconds left and the Cavaliers were forced to foul Lillard. Cleveland was called for a technical foul for delaying the game and Lillard hit all three free throws to seal the game.  Larry Nance Jr. is out because of a hamstring injury he suffered in the third quarter of Cleveland’s 129-107 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday. Tristan Thompson is also out and missed his 6th straight game with an ankle injury. Kevin Love missed his 9th game with a left hand fracture but could return next week.

The reigning Western Conference Player of the Week Damian Lillard is playing outstanding basketball making a noise in the MVP conversation and lead his team to the third seed in the Western Conference. CJ McCollum is also a big factor in Portland’s success. Lillard became the 3rd player in NBA history to have 1,500-plus points and 400-plus rebounds in each of his first six seasons.

LeBron James became the 6th active player to achieve 400 double-doubles. This game is the fifth of the six-game road trip for the Cavaliers. LeBron was asked at shoot around before the game if Lillard is unappreciated. He said, “Give me Damian Lillard and I’ll show you how appreciated he’d be.” That’s an interesting statement by LeBron James. Will we see a James-Lillard duo? That would be amazing. Cavaliers’ next game will be against the Chicago Bulls on the road and Portland will host Detroit on Saturday.
