I have learned to look in the mirror
and to be able to recognize me, accept me.
With my wounds, my stretch marks, with or without dark circles,
I have learned to read that map of life that shows my skin.
And to recognize in my eyes
what the world does not see
I have learned to take care of myself.
And to understand that the only person that must accept me is me.
I was not born
to please no one
I didn't grow up
to follow the flock
I learned
so as not to be wrong again,
or yes, but with the lesson learned.
I've figured out how to look at myself
admire and love me
with this imperfection that characterizes me
but what makes us so unique.
I've learned to be how I want to be
to love how I know how to do it
to lose without blaming me
and to leave where I was too much.
And I've also learned to stay
with those who invest their time in me.
I have learned to criticize the one shown by the mirror, to understand her and empathize even though we may not always agree.
I have learned to explain all my efforts to him, to be sincere,
because deep down I know who best understands me.
I've just learned to love myself
with my defects and my virtues,
with my extra kilos and my chest less,
with everything,
because that's me
and in the end I know that I am my best creation
