For a long time I had pending to see Heartland on Netflix but I stopped how long it was (13 seasons plus one that is not yet on the platform) however, as I am a horse lover, I began to watch it in October. And although I still have 4 chapters to go, I feel like I can share with you my spoiler-free reasons for watching this 2007 Canadian series that is still on the air and tells the story of Amy, a “horse whisperer” and her family:
1. The horses. They are the most obvious reason but it is also that they are as protagonists as the actors because each one has his name, his own personality and his "life purpose": some are jumps, others load, others are rough for the rodeo, others they are "linkers" to catch cattle, others to do stunts.
2. The landscapes. Mountains, rivers, pines and all the scenery of Canadian forests are called respite and escape, especially in these times of confinement.
3. Jack Bartlett. He is one of the main characters, the patriarch of the family and he honestly causes me to adopt me. He is a tireless, fair and loving worker, and a protector of his family and especially of the granddaughters he raised.
4. Amy and Ty. The main romantic couple. Although their story is stereotyped, it is so cute that seeing how they support and accompany each other from adolescence to adulthood is a chicken soup for the soul.
5. Your real "feeling". For me this is one of the great values ​​of the series, that the clothes, the styles, the houses, everything, feel very representative of that lifestyle. In fact, the actress who plays Amy lives on a farm, is an animal lover and does her own jumps on the show.
6. For all ages. Although it is censorship +13, the truth is that it does not contain violence or sex scenes and it is a story that can attract the attention of older children. They can also see it with the children around without risk and without having to pay too much attention to it.
7. Your messages. It has several but at the center is undoubtedly family unity, resilience, solidarity, collaboration, the importance of work and the need to accept each person as they are.
