Thanks for the upvote @stellabelle  You may be familiar already with some of the gambling industries tactics. Young minds and pockets are definitely and strategically targeted. Kids need to be read fairy tales again... like Hansel and Gretel and the house made of all candy... there is age-old wisdom handed down for our species protection in these tales. 
Heres a few of their overt tactics - Go into a casino, chances are - No clocks or time telling devices. Lighting to make it look like early afternoon ALL THE TIME. Air conditioning turned up so you never feel tired, "free" drinks - FULL OF CAFFEINE usually - gotta keep that energy up. 
Covert -The all enticing FREE BET... ya know the one... sign up and get $100.00 FREE to bet!! WOW! Notice the decimal sign and double "00" after the 100. Why? $100.00 looks bigger than $100 
Giving someone a digital $100 when they can only spend on YOUR GAME in YOUR HOUSE by YOUR RULES costs the casinos/gambling industry absolutely ZERO. They could as easily give you $1000 or $10,000 Just would take longer to get a profitable return, but they would get it. The whole idea is to hook you in. 
How it works - Cialdini's "Law of Reciprocity" - Give a little something 'free' to get a BIG something in return. Law of obligation. 
Law of Alignment - Casinos treat you as a WINNER... they align with your dreams, aspirations, hopes, beliefs. Yeah, I too can win the lottery! Sure you can buddy.... just give us your money. 
It goes on but you get the gist. 

Solutions? 1. Never act impulsively. Where did the idea originally come from to spend your cash? Was it yours? Or implanted there? 
2, Spread the message through education and sharing our knowledge. This is why I love the whole idea of Steemit. Best for now, David B.
