When my friends who are not on Steemit look at the current trending page, they say to themselves, "Make up a cheap, exploitative game and get paid". This degrades any potential growth of it being a "blogging" platform.

You get a 100$% comment upvote for that clearly represented truth of outside observers which I have been talking about... thanks for confirming. It's obvious to anyone who honestly evaluates this issue and is not attached to it for their own personal gain. Logic shows us the truth.

Game picking is not good. I have a good amount written about this coming out in the future. My recent posts on philosophy and psychology are primer knowledge to understand what is going on, even without this Steemit issue.

I feel that Steemit's strength is that we have a large amount of people who want an alternative to the sleazy, exploitative, cheap world that exists everywhere else. I think many of are here to create a better world that is not contingent upon cheapness, exploitation and pimpery. I might add that I make a distinction between those who exploit themselves, and those who exploit others. I have no bad feelings towards those who choose to exploit themselves for money. However, I feel that exploitation of others for personal gain is the lowest kind of scum and much of the reason that suffering exists on a mass scale.

So much of the world out there already is being run on the backs of exploitation and cheap schemes. I do think Steemit has to decide what kind of thing it is. By being open to everything, we will always be at war. That is one way to build something, but having a clear definition is another way to achieve the same thing. Ever since I started here, I felt that there were two types of people in here. I do see the need to perhaps have a darksteemit. I think there's enough vile, base-filled minds to fill up two distinct worlds. And I'm not saying that I am an angel. I would visit darksteemit on particularly horrible nights if it existed. But I would most likely feel sick the next morning.

Yup, hyper-tolerance is accepting everything. Judgment, discernment, evaluation, diagnosis of situations needs to be done. Learning and establishing rules of conduct for what is good for us and not good for us. And to not focus on yourself and short-term gains, all about me me me, no real vision and sight in life which corrupts our way of life. Thanks for the honest feedback, need more people who see reality more as it really is.
