Who Am I?

When you were a child, your identity wasn't well-defined. You probably didn't spend much time even answering the question, "Who am I?" If you're an adult now, you probably have a pretty solid idea of who you are. You have an adult identity that you've created for yourself.

# But what about those adults who haven't grown up into any solid identity? What kind of people are they? Are they mad?

I think I'm one of those people who doesn't possess a firm identity. I see life as an adult as just wearing different masks. For that reason, I have no problem dressing up in different ways if I feel like it. If I had to assume one identity as an adult, I suppose it would be as an artist. But even with that, I don't feel the need to dress or project myself in the same way every day. Now that I'm freelancing, which means I do most of my work in my pajamas, I see no reason to get dressed at all. I think identities were created because people have jobs to go to everyday. If your job is to be creative everyday, it kind of makes the whole identity thing dissolve. 

## I feel more similar to children in that I enjoy creating new, mostly silly characters for my videos.

I've done this my entire life, even up to this day. As a child, I had a trunk full of dress up clothes. It's always been something that I enjoyed doing in private, for fun, since I was a very shy child. I never got into acting for that very reason. Something about performing in front of people ruins my feeling of fun. Most of the videos and movies I've made have been done by myself or with very close friends. It's my very private inner world of make-believe. 

## I have no illusions about this make-believe stuff, though.

I don't consider it high art, or anything of the sort. I consider it just a part of my life, that's it. When people who call themselves "artists" try to make their art more important than it actually is, I just have to laugh and carry on. Art is just a natural by-product of a free mind. At least that's how I view it. Even separating oneself from the act of creating art is problematic. Making something creative is an extension of free flowing ideas. It's nothing special. It only means you're alive.

I don't know why I wrote it like if it was a big laugh. Maybe I was in need of another cup of coffee at that time.

I really like to see actual exclusive content in Steemit instead of reposts or shares of content from other sites. Although, in your case, at least you did content in other websites, but about Steemit.

Yeah you are one of a kind Stella, or should I say several of a kind lol!

I agree, I think perhaps we are all in the process of constantly re-creating ourselves. At least I feel I am. 
When I was a teenager I made a pro-active decision to plan my life in periods of five year spells- -so every 5 years I changed my job/career. Started a new hobby and a new sport. Each of these depended upon my age ability.
For example, as a young man I did sword fencing as a sport /hobby. The sport is so fast that at 27 you are just too slow. So I quit and took up Golf instead and so on. In this way, perhaps similar to you changing your character identities,  I feel I have l lived different lives. I ma sharing them on this platform now.
However,as with yourself, creativity has always been my main theme and is the one constant factor that hold everything together. The glue if you like.

Children change us though, there is no escaping that. Never again can we think only about ourselves and that is a game change.

To the friends I have who I cherish the most I often say to them "You are one of a kind my friend, I hope you dont change"
With though perhaps I would say "Hope you keep changing Stella"  Lol!
