The Croods are back on a vibrant, hyperactive, high-tension prehistoric adventure, with stars Nicholas Cage, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds and Katherine Keener returning to their roles with The Croods: A NewAge.
A four-season series has been released on Netflix bridging the seven-year gap between the original 2013 film The Croods and the film, and although the series has used talented vocal actors for its characters, it's great to have Cage, Stone, Reynolds and Kinner (as well as Clark Duke as Cloris Leachman) return for the second official film segment. This is not only because of the value of their name (although Reynolds' fame has escalated dramatically since the first film The Croods),butbecause they are actually beautifully in tune with each other.
Cage's obsession blends perfectly with Stone's fun, and Reynolds itself is a gift in anything comedy he offers in general.
Dreamworks Animation's film chains are huge works, from Shrek to Madagascar to Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon, where the company has given us some of the most successful and wonderfulepics that everyone of all ages enjoys.

The Croods: A New Age carries some distinctive emotions and offers some feisty new characters, but the story doesn't resonate with the viewer like the original movie.
When we last left the Crowdes and Guy represented by Reynolds, they all went out looking for a new place they considered their home. In the terms "guy", this place is called "tomorrow", which his late parents asked him to look for when he was just a young boy. But the conflict arises when the travelling group finds a real, isolated and fortified utopia with a wall overseen by Phil and Hob Peterman, voiced by Peter Dinklage and Leslie Mann. The couple happen to know Guy as a child, trying to keep the boy away from the rest of the Crods and bring him together with their teenage daughter (voiced by Kelly Marie Tran), at a time when Guy and Ebb (voiced by Stone) were in love with each other and planning a possible future together.

It's still understandable. The Croods are good, and A New Age is suitable for a year like the 2020 we spent on the couch, but doesn't outperform the first film or even match it with splendor. Cage's performance remains remarkable as an overprotective father, who now has to absorb a new risk-free life (and a less intimate family life) while Stone continues to use her brutal style as a noisy and lively Abe.
And it's still a world. The Croods are worth a visit thanks to their exotic and distinctive hybrid creatures such as kangaroos and wild sharks, albeit only in order to enjoy their exotic appearances.

It can be said that The Croods: A New Age is an average part of the original film released in 2013. But the cast is great and the jokes are smart and perfect, which will make children and adults have a funny time alike. Although the story and emotional impact are slightly lower than the first part, this is often expected of this type of cartoon in its following parts.
