Helpless to help! My wife, kiddos, and a flat tire.

I want to be the knight in shining armor for my family.  My wife and 5 daughters have been running errands this afternoon.  I worked from home today because I woke up with a nasty headache.  So my wife took advantage of using the van (we are a one-vehicle family).

I just received a call from my wife letting me know that she has a flat tire.  I can't go to help her because I am stuck at home with no vehicle.  I feel helpless because a part of me says feels like it is my duty and responsibility to physically help in times like this.  Fortunately, I purchased roadside assistance as a part of my car insurance.  But I still feel like I should be the one who fixes the problem.

Life is funny.   Sometimes we feel like completely helpless.  Sometimes it seems impossible to ...
- help someone in need
- provide well for our family
- offer an encouraging word because we are so discouraged
- find hope in the ocean of challenges we face
- make a difference for ourselves and those we love
- show love to the unlovely.

Sometimes we feel helpless.  I don't know what you are facing today, but I know that many of you are facing challenges and obstacles.  I want to encourage you to stay the course and keep pressing forward, because there are other people who depend on you, even when you feel helpless.

- There is always someone that we can bless, even when we feel empty.  
- There is always someone we can encourage, even when we feel down.   
- There is always someone who needs to hear from us, even when we don't have much to say.

Helpless?  At times.    Worthless?  No.   Available?  Always.

I learned to change my own tires! No biggy. Just need a little more omph! to loosen the lug nuts when some lug nut tightens them too tight with an air gun!

Inilah hidup, terkadang saat orang yang paling kita sayang membutuhkan bantuan kita, kita tidak berdaya. Jangan merasa sedih dan bersalah ketika kita tidak bisa membantunya. Tapi percayalah akan ada orang lain yang akan menolong dia asalkan kita selalu berusaha menolong orang lain. sometime we want to be everything for others, but we cannot. For example: If our family need specialist for special medical treatment, all we can do is bring them to hospital, not practicing thing by ourselves.
