Steem Power Delegation - What, Why, and How

In today's post, I want to answer a question from @ahlawat about Steem Power Delegation.  He noticed a "reduction" in my Steem Power, and was asking what happened.

<h1>The Basics</h1>
You can view information about your Steem Power by completing the following steps:
1.  Click your Steemit Avatar image located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen
2.  Click **Wallet**

You can view information about other Steem users' Steem Power by completing the following steps:

1.  Open the other Steem User's blog
2.  Click **Wallet**

<h1>How Do You Know Is Someone is Sending Or Receiving Steem Delegation?</h1>

Once you opened the **Wallet** information of the account you are investigating, look for the **Steem Power** section.  Mine currently looks like this.

Although you will not be able to see the specific details about someone's Steem Power delegation in this section, you will be able to see the overall delegation trend for the account. 

- **No value in the parentheses** = no delegation or no net change in delegation (the same amount coming in as going out)
- **Negative value in parentheses** = delegating more Steem Power out than what is being received (this is my current situation)
- **Positive value in parentheses** = receiving more delegated Steem Power than what is being sent out
 
<h1>Why Is Steem Power Delegation Important?</h1>

Steem Power Delegation allows a user to **give control** of a portion of his or her Steem Power to another account while still **maintaining ownership** of the Steem Power.   But remember that controlling Steem Power is what gives you the ability to upvote. 

Traditionally delegation is used as a way to support another Steem account, whether an individual, sub-community, or project.  Both the sending and receiving parties need to understand the terms of the agreement, such as ...

- How long will the delegation take place?
- How large of a delegation will be sent or received?
- What type of stipulations are required?
- Will the account sending the delegation receive compensation?

The account sending the delegation can revoke the delegation at any time.   It takes 7 days for a revoked delegation to be returned to the owner for use.  This is commonly referred to as a cool down period.

<h1>Is There A Simple Way To Delegate (Or Undelegate) Steem Power?</h1>

I just learned about a tool called [SteemIt SP Delegation Tool](https://helloacm.com/tools/steemit/sp-delegate-form/).  I  just ran a test to undelegate some Steem Power, and it performed as I expected it to.  *Disclaimer:*  However, I do not make any promises or guarantees of future performance, and I will not be held responsible for the actions of its operators.  Research any Steem tool or service before using it.

I usually prefer tools, resources, or services that utilize Steem Connect and  [SteemIt SP Delegation Tool](https://helloacm.com/tools/steemit/sp-delegate-form/) does.  


<h3>The steps are simple.</h3> 
You will need to have a [SteemConnect.com](https://v2.steemconnect.com/login) account to complete these steps.

1.  Enter **Delegator Name** (your account information that will delegate the Steem Power)
2.  Enter the **Delegatee Name** (the account name that will receive the Steem Power)
3.  Enter the **Amount** you wish to delegate.  I recommend that you send as SP (which currently is the default option)
4.  Click **Delegate Via SteemConnect.com**
5.  Enter appropriate user information for Steem Connect.
6.  Confirmed the delegation/undelegation.

If you want to increase a delegation, follow the steps mentioned above and enter the new total value that you want to delegate.  If you want to undelegate (remove a delegation) then complete the steps above and enter 0 as the amount.

Sepertinya tidak ada batasan resmi.  Dulu saya hanya mendelegasikan 20 SP aja.  Tapi jangan mendelegasikan SP sampai akun anda habis.  Kalau begitu akan dapat error bandwidth.
