Season post 1.5

# The finale!

Our cowboys and girls have discovered that the man who killed them is within reach. Lets see who wins this cat and mouse game.



@mitneb you pull the trigger. roll 4. A sudden breeze blows as the bullet decimates the gang member next to Brooks. His heads flips around as the gang scatters. You fire again. Roll 16. The bullet strike his shoulder. His horse charges out of the town as he begins to slide out of the saddle. You jump from rock to rock trying to cut him off. By the time you reach him a pair of his men have already helped him off the horse. You cock your rifle and aim down the sights. Roll 2. The bullet ricochets off a branch as the men pull out revolvers and fire blindly. Roll 15. You duck and return fire killing one of them. The survivor drags Brooks behind a rock face and shoots back from safety. A single gunshot echoes.
The man crumbles to the ground. Brooks stands as he blows off his pistol. He walks over the man he killed and toward you.
"Have to keep this conversation to just us." He gives a smile as he cringes in pain and glances at his shoulder. He pauses.
And smiles again. "I bet you don't even remember your name. Good it will make killing you over and over more fun. See what else you will forget."
You lower the rifle as he waves his revolver tauntingly. "Ya see. There was a reason for killing you. I made a deal with the Dark. Every time you die I only get stronger, as long as I sow chaos." He drops his revolver as it floats down to the earth. The chamber rotates as he flicks a pocket full of bullets at it. They slide into the slots as the chamber spins. He snaps his fingers as your rifle flies out of your hands.
"Let's play a game."
The gun points in the air. "If it fires a bullet you kill me. If it doesn't, then its your turn. Picked this game off some Russian we whacked last month. Calling it Russian Roulette."
Roll 3. The gun clicks. And floats the barrel toward you. He smiles again. Roll 5.
The gunshot echoes.

Your feet race against the sand as the long whistle of a train echoes. Roll 18. You slide masterfully down the sand dune and end up at the tracks. You hide behind a rock as the train grows closer. A pack of riders are alongside it. Guns blazing into the agents on the train. Roll 2. As you try to leap on one of the rider you land terribly and get trampled by the horses. Bloodied and bruised you latch onto the train as it yanks you forward. Roll 3. The injuries are too dire your grip slips as you fall off the train. You lie in the sand unable to feel the pain. You awaken to Brooks smiling.
"You're bleeding internally it seems. I only do this to grow stronger not to give you any mercy." A knife floats in the air as he flicks his wrist. It hovers before plunging into your aorta. He grins wider. Black fire crackling in his hands.

You died! Out of lives! Good luck next season.

Roll 14 you sneak into town. They appear to be gearing up for something. You spot your prey tightening the saddle on his horse. Roll 3. You trip and fall into a water trough. A knife flies through the air and stops at your throat. Brooks laughs as the floating dagger pokes your chest jokingly.
"My powers must not have gotten that strong. The dark did not tell me you were nearby." He gets a coin. "Let's make this fun."
He tosses the coin in the air. Roll 18.
He waves off the men encroaching as he reads the coin. "The Dark wants him to live for now. We will see him again."
He tosses the coin at your feet. "Keep the change!"

@eonwarped you set the rope tighter against the rocks. And hide behind the rocks. Roll 2. As you kneel down it snaps and slaps you in the face, stinging your eyes. Horses charge around you as you try to steal a horse. Roll 12. You snag a rider and pull him down. You spur the horse as you catch up with the other riders. Roll 6. You miss with your knife and can not steal a revolver. Roll 10. The bullet misses you as it ricochets off the train. You see an opportunity and jump onto the train. Roll 8. You bounce off the railing and hold on. As you cling tighter you see a white hat above you.
"Well fancy seeing you here dead man."
Roll 4.
He cocks the pistol. "Well bye."

The Dark takes you.

You died!

Extra life. You and Ethan both get a chance at the grand prize.

@krytpocek you wait in the shadows.

After a few hours a white hat walks past you. You draw out your knife. Roll 9. The knife plunges into his shoulder as he rams you both into a wall. He howls in pain. He presses his back into you grinding your spine against rhe rough exterior of the building.  Roll 3. He throws his headback and it crunches your nose. He twirls and jams a revolver into your face. He begins to smile.
"Hey there. Looks like my lil ritual worked."
He looks you up and down. "Not bad for a dead man."
He cocks the hammer back.
"Should I kill you now and let the Dark heal me or let you live so I can hunt you down later."
Roll 7.
"My shoulder hurts like hell. Sorry squirt."

The world goes to black.

@theuxyeti. you lodge a boulder onto the track. The train grinds to a halt. A posse of gun men wearing badges come out. Roll 16. They don't fire immediately. You make a gesture toward the track beneath them. And make an exploding gesture with your hands.
Panic starts to grow on their faces as you tap on your hip like theres a malfunctioning pocket watch there. They unload all their men in a rush as they try to unload the money. In the confusion they forgot an entire case of hundred dollar bills. And a rifle. You prop your feet up and wait.
A pack of riders comes down the hill. You brace the rifle on the window and aim. Roll 20. You cut them all down. A white hat watches on the hilltop. He charges down. Roll 4. You miss him as he gets close enough that you see the white of his eyes. Roll 16. Your next shot knocks him off the horse. He falls into the sand. You dash forward and pepper more shots into him.
Black firey energy crackles around him as he smiles.
"Congrats squirt. You won this round." His eyelids begin to droop. "Wonder why you can't die?" He coughs up blood. "Turns out I wont stay dead either. "
He rests his head into the sand.
"See you soon squirt. See you soon."

You survived!

@bethalea sweat drips down your face as he creeps closer.

Roll 18. The shot is as beautiful as a summer sunset. He falls to his knees. You charge down the stairs. And past the drunk hoopskirt. You grab a horse. Roll 13. You expertly mount the thoroughbred and dash out of the city. You look behind you. Roll 9. A pair of pursuers is in your wake.
They fire at you.
Roll 20. You shoot widly at them one handed. The shots hit true as they slump off their horses.

Your horses slows to a crawl.

You lived!

You survived and make it into Season 2 for free.

@calumam you wait. Roll 9. Tired from the day's adventure you briefly nod off. And realize the gang is leaving. You sneak around trying to find a horse. Roll 12. You find one and mount it.
As you turn you see a posse in the distance riding west. You follow.

A train calls in the distance. You charge toward the front of the pack. They dont seem to notice you. You ride right up to Brooks. Roll 20. The knife slides in and out before he can bark any orders. You slow your horse down. As the posse charges ahead. The figure of Brooks begans to slide off the horse. His men panic. You stroll off towards a nearby canyon and watch. Shaking your head.
If only someone was watching. Nobody will believe that one.
