Insects are considered annoying today, to say the least. However, this was not always the case, and in the past many myths and symbols were associated with bees, beetles and dragonflies. But insects "lived" not only in legends, but also in every area of ​​human life.

Despite their not-so-good reputation, the trillions of insects and spiders living on Earth are the heroes of the most breathtaking and dramatic close-ups and macro shots. 

Insects are perhaps even more unique than humans, and they are obviously much more numerous. In most places on Earth, insect macro photography can be done all the time, since they are found almost everywhere.

The symbolism attributed to insects, as well as the natural beauty and colors of some species, is the very fact that made insects become attractive to human.


They are many millions of years older than humans, so it's no surprise that we've always looked at insects as miracles. And although today insects for many of us do nothing but annoy (to say the least), before, like many other animals, they had a cult status.

Bees were commonly associated with loyalty and hard work; dragonflies and flies - with speed, efficiency and military agility. And, for example, cicadas, butterflies, beetles and various larvae were associated with rebirth, longevity, recovery, immortality and protection.
