What a stupid title... But I am a little worn out so it'll do. The last couple days I haven't looked at the markets but this morning I had about 49 seconds to log in and I was surprised to find, not much had changed. It wasn't much of a surprise.

In the session I had this morning an 'old client' dropped in also who happens to be on Steem but has been dormant. He has been dormant because he said it wasn't worth his time to post which is fine but, dormancy isn't necessary as there is plenty he could use his stake (bought near the ATH) to do and lower his required ROI. 

He is a bit disillusioned though. I understand. He would be less so if he had asked before buying but as is often the way with traditional investors at the beginning, they *think* they understand volatility.

But I was looking at my holdings and thinking what they might be worth of they go 10 times - would I be happy with the effort in and the return? Yes. Would I sell? No. Not at 10 times.

The entire market is worth 130 billion-ish which is only about 7x less than the peak market cap at the end of 2017 but, there is much more leg in the market than a trillion worth. New coins, new projects, inflation on inflationary coins and other factors have all diluted the market place but as I see it, when the institutional investors make their move, they are going to shift across risk groups. And while the entire market is volatile, it is much less risky in a bull run, especially for those who bought low as it will all be gain. The holders like me of course need to get to a certain point to get ROI (if bought). 

What is going to be interesting the next time around isn't going to be the bill run, however fun, it is going to be the following retraction. Where are the institutional investors going to gather? Will they pull funds out completely or, will they pick a few Blockchain a to store upon to wait? Most likely a bit of both?

My goal in the next run is to find a happy medium where I can sell a bit to improve life conditions and still hold enough that I can be active, earn and of course take advantage of the 5-10 year outlook where the holders come into their own and their positions payback greatly.

It is not the end of the world to hold through dips although it doesn't maximize coins well. At the end of the day (decade?), holding something is what is going to matter because when the global economic crash arrives and things start to shift very fast, many won't have the liquidity to buy in. 

It has been a problem for me over the last months, I should have found a second job about 3 months earlier than I did as them I would have had my bills paid and a little excess at the lows. Capabilities depend on available resources and someone living hand to mouth is incapable of investing as there is no excess. Designing life as best one can understand circumstances to have a little to put into asset growth is important. 

Often though, this means delaying gratification across various sectors, something at least I am not great at doing but, I am learning. The tendency to say, *I have been working hard, I deserve..* is a strong pull but one that can negate that hard work and reduce its future value enormously. Yes, some balance is required but for each person, that point can be different and for each person, the potential to improve oneself and create better personal processes is high.

While people like to talk about leopards and spots, everyone is always changing. Don't believe it is impossible for you, me, or anyone else.

I will take a holiday one day, I think my wife needs it.
