Yesterday, I had to drive into Orlando for a meeting.

As I was driving in, I thought how absurd it all is.  It was bumper to bumper traffic with a bunch of people going to jobs that, according to statistics, most of them cannot stand.  When you realize 85% of the working public despises their jobs, that is saying something.  At the same time, since we excelled, at least in the United States, over the last 20 years, of creating bulls**t jobs, it is soon realized that 25%-40% of those jobs are not even needed.  

So I was left with what is the point?

Obviously, people need to work to make money so they can "contribute to society".  It is funny how contributions to society entails doing something that enriches someone else.  In my mind, this is all part of the corporate/bankster programming that we all grew up with.  It is almost humorous to see someone debating the strong work ethic like this is the 1950s and going to work in a factory.  Sure, there are plenty of people who work hard yet, from all the studies I read, very few actually get ahead.  In fact, there is a growing amount of research that is substantiating the idea that those who truly excel  do so as a result of luck as opposed to smarts or work ethic.

Nevertheless, we still see the old Protestant work ethic in the Western countries which helps to fuel the perpetual growth model.  Basically, we see the disease of "more".  Companies need to produce more, consumers need to buy more, and we all need to earn more.  If, however, the money is not there, do not fear, debt will bridge the gap.  After all, "you deserve it".

It is also interesting to watch people hold onto their beliefs.  They have a view of the world that does not align with what is going on.  These people oppose a basic income because people are lazy and will stay home playing video games all day.

Oh wait, video gaming is a $20B a year business, bigger than the NFL and many are making a ton of money playing it.  Of course, they are now eSportsmen (or women) so I guess it is okay.

And by the way, ask any business owner, the laziest people in the world are in offices earning a paycheck.  One only needs to work in an office with 5 or more people for a short time to realize how lazy people are at work.  Yet they are "working".

I laugh whenever I come across someone who wants to debate the idea of technological unemployment.  Again, holding onto those beliefs thinking that somehow it is not going to happen.  The truth is that it already is.  There are millions of people who are either completely out of work or had to take part time work because of things completely out of their control.  

Yet people maintain that we need employment even though people hate what they do.

But wait, it even gets better.  I read a post on here by an individual who said we get self worth from our work.  Is this for real?  Ask the single mom working at Denny's the self worth she gets.  Of even better, ask the dishwasher how he or she feels about being employed in that profession.  I speak from experience on this since I did that in college....trust me, little worth is gained from doing that job.  The sad truth is that pertains to most jobs.

Here is a bit of a reality....let us try this....people have worth since they are alive.  How about that?  It does not matter how much one makes, what zip code he or she lives in, the car driven, or job worked.  People have value simply because they exist.

Self worth does not come from the outside; it comes from within; hence the word "self".

The move to automate jobs is a good thing.  Robotics, software, and other technologies are going to wipe out a large percentage of the work force.  That is a good thing.  Millions are killed or maimed due to injuries sustained either when working, or traveling to and from work.  Would anyone argue against that bomb disposal robots and not having humans doing that job is of benefit?  

Taken to a higher level, we are seeing the emergence of DAOs (or DACs).  Why do we need companies that spend hundreds of thousands of dollars a year (or millions) on people to make decisions?  Isnt it much better to get rid of those people and let the blockchain and automated decision tree system handle it all?  Of course it is.  

When you consider the time and resources we spend tending to our "jobs", it is literally absurd.  Since, for most, the work is unfulfilling and pointless, we incur medical issues due to stress.  We lose precious time with our families while only valuing that which someone is paid to do.  Raising one's children or taking care of an elderly parent is not acceptable unless you are of a certain income level that you can "afford" to make that choice.  Of course, we have the answer to this...pay someone else to take care of our children and the elderly.  

As we move into the Age of Abundance, people are going to start to awaken to what is taking place.  The rat race that so many value and protect is going to collapse.  It is nothing more than a mirage.  People do not get ahead by working hard and being smart.  Sure, you can point to an isolated case.  However, tens of millions of people spend decades toiling along really never changing their income class.

Of course, along the way, the fat cats from Wall Street are making money.  That is where the system comes from.

Personally, I see this starting to crack.  Cryptocurrency is creating a new reality that is allowing people to live.  Within a decade, individuals will essentially be paid for living their lives.  There will be a token for anything one wants to do.  This is where people will be pulling in 25, 50, or even 100 tokens a month.  No matter what one does, someone is going to pay for that.

The reason this is the case is that many of us now understand what the banksters always knew: money is created out of thin air.  Naturally, those who believe the old economic theories they were taught, are concerned about that.  Again, this is a belief system that is not reflective of the world we live in.  Just look at those things that fall under the Laws of Informational Technology and how they are expanding.  Each month, a larger share of our economy is affected by processing, storage, and software.  All these areas are deflationary meaning that as they expand, prices drop.  This is augmented by the fact that labor is going to be eliminated in mass numbers once we get another recession.

Automation is going to destroy jobs and that is a good thing.  Most of the bulls**t work that we do will be handled by computers.  This is going to enable people to pursue what interests them.  Those of us in cryptocurrency already see the foundation being laid.

Want to see what the future looks like.  Here is a video I watched that really epitomizes the potential loss of jobs.  The important part starts at 3:13.  While this is referring to an assistant, do not think for a second this is not the future of telemarketing, customer service, and many sales jobs.

Again, this is a good thing.  Contrary to what some people believe about self worth, telemarketing is a bulls**t job that sucks and most, who are doing it, really hate.  I speak from experience on this one also.  

STEEM is a trendsetter.  We already see a few on this platform who are able to make their living by being a full-time Steemian.  This is wonderful.  More people are going to enter that realm as the platform expands, raising the price.  Also, when people are able to add in a few other tokens received for doing what they normally do, it will only exapnd the idea.

This is the power of cryptocurrency and blockchain.  It is fostering the Age of Abundance since it is an "enlightened" idea.  Cryptocurrency is abundant.  It obliterates the scarcity model that enslaved us for so long.  In short, cryptocurrency is good for humanity, both individually and collectively.

Getting paid to live, what a concept.
