I didn’t really know how to frame this blog post this morning so I probably go all ranty in the vlog because it’s something I’ve noticed more and more as I get older and while we could just align that with the male level of grumpiness.

I’m pretty open to that fact that ‘things just sometimes don’t work out the way you expect’ — especially if you set your expectations too high but I tell you sometimes I wish I was born into a dutch efficient culture instead of this british one! :)

Anyway regardless, my start of the decade was going to go either of two ways pretty much, a really downwards spiral with no real outcome in sight or something was gonna happen that would set me off on another new trajectory — call it luck or fate but the latter happened and for a few days I was super pleased that this direction was a ‘better change, than a rest’ as my grandad used to say.

It also brought me down to earth in terms of the living in ‘electric dreams’ of crypto world for the last few years and the inefficient landscape of fiat, verifications and just general inability to not price in/factor in that somethings are just a real chore that you have no alternative but to step through at the pace of the system.

With crypto (and I’m not just talking payments) there is a feeling of solid maths based efficiency to it, it feels like it’s less travelling through the office of some dimwits who just wanna slow down the middle part of your calculated result getting to you so they can apply a ‘speed restriction’ cost to it and call it ‘management’

What I’m getting at is that the systems/networks of commerce and fiat and real world, day to day lives of people is abstracted away from the reality — the notions of paper based, photo taken verifications, the idea that those things are are ‘securely’ stored in the cloud using the very latest encryption is often false — we sacrifice on the daily and barter our security in the pursuit of completing the check boxes of someones out of date inefficient system.

In that time, we have to wait for a resolution, days can pass, even months or years, just until you have ‘fit the mould’ of whatever the pseudo requirements of that system needs — and governments wonder why people rebel against the illusion of the marketing speak vs the actual product that the day to day user uses.

## so you adapt and change
Instead of maintaining a level of frustration about it you have to approach it from another angle, which with the tools and resources we scramble together on a daily basis allows us to re-frame perspective, take stock, work on what’s available and move on from there.

On that side of things the start of the new decade has worked out pretty good, aside from the fiat side side of things and the hoop jumping technical stuff (which sits in the background slowly bubbling away until the anxiety level jumps up, is this priced in for daily life by the system?) things actually took on a bright new direction.

I’ll reveal a little bit more in a few days but I’m kinda excited to have the opportunity and can’t wait to expand on it more through January, I’ve still got this gut instinct that I want to switch things up and do something on a completely different tangent and just bunker down on that for the next year to give me resources to switch things up quickly but for now this fits.

I’m recording a presentation after this which should get released on tuesday as well which I used to do, I actually feel I should be doing a lot more of these, picking a topic and free styling around it, mainly to share opinions I have and have other people tell me I’m wrong or at least give me suggestions that I might have overlooked — or maybe I’m just carrying baggage about it that I want to remove.

> Sometimes in life you just don’t have access to all the moving parts and need to delegate a bit of time and energy to finding creative solutions that you can apply (in your way) to remove that stress from your life.

But don’t get me wrong here, I am looking at life as a month by month basis right now, that’s up from week by week and day by day from literally a few weeks back, it’s interesting to me how some ‘news and reaction’ can cement your determination to give things ‘another go’

that’s one thing about me I know for certain, I never truly ever gave in, and I think that’s an important thing that every human being should invest in — you have one life on this spinning rock, fill it with stuff you can watch the matinee of your life when the time comes.

I’m still open to some big life changing direction switches, I know I have a lot to add to this space and i’m going to be working on a layout/mockup for an application I want to build that utilises IPFS (hopefully some kind of encrypted ipfs storage in a managed cluster — so utilising the tech, but not public as such) that I think could be a global application that people would use.

Anyway, I’m hoping to sit down with my darling @dayleeo and watch a 2001 ‘Millennium Actress’ BluRay from 2001 — I think it’s perfect sunday afternoon watching material and I think we need a film day ;)
