thoughtful gifts are the best gifts

i don’t think i spoke about this but it needs to put out there on a blockchain somewhere on a computer in this mass we call EARTH.

my daughter turned ten in may and me and @dayleeo got a bunch of presents for her so she could have a nice birthday. the best present i thought however out of the lot was dayles idea of this wonderful empowerment book for ‘rebel girls’ - i love the idea that my daughter has lots of powerful, smart, witty and focused women role models in her life she can look up to and form ideas around.

to make the gift extra special dayle (who does voiceovers anyway on upwork as a job and stuff, how awesome) thought of recording some of the pages as mp3 files so she could listen back and follow along, look at the pictures, you know like a bed time story. pretty smart. we added to the mix by buying a super cheap mp3 player and copied them across. in the end we had over a **fifty** of the stories down (i did a bunch too) so she could always have us in her ears somewhere, even if she did’nt have the book with her she could sit in the school yard and be inspired! :)

i really loved working on that project together with @dayleeo, i just wanted to put that out there for other parents wanting to do something sweet and quirky for their kids on a birthday. it was my kind of way of putting of the owning of a mobile phone for another year at least anyway :)
