I never dare to put it like you did but you somewhat reflect how I see things. Steem is only a part of this. 

It seems like life on earth needs to overcome what made it evolve. Life evolve through competition and cooperation but maybe we need to do away with destructive competition. 

The predatory system the powers that shouldn't be have put in place will only get them to the point of being pray to their own system. 

Maybe we can out evolve this system. Since I was very young I was thinking about such ideas, maybe not as clearly as now but at least the beginning of it.
