Im convinced that cats saved humanity!! the plague and the black death was supposedly spread by fleas on rats. And occured at a time when humans believed a cat was a creature of the devil and would not let them in their homes. A coincidence? Thousands of cats in greece are (for want of a better word) feral and do and go as they please, they seem quite happy and live in harmony with the people. Its just normal, both in cities and rural areas!!
