My CSC TT250 1000 Mile Review.
<h1>CSC TT250 1000 Mile Review. </h1>

So I hit 1000 miles on the CSC TT250. I'm happy to report there were no problems at all. The bike arrived in great condition, I've ridden it everyday since its arrival, did an oil change at 200, & 500 miles, adjusted the valves, and another 500 miles later all systems are go! As of today the bike currently has a little over 1000 miles on it.

For the most part I'm really happy with the bike. For the price, I'm absolutely ecstatic! $2300 USD delivered to my door for a brand new motorcycle. I'll be honest for the price I didn't know what to expect, and frankly didn't expect much. Overall I can honestly say the bike has exceeded any expectations or preconceived notions I had about it! This is a fun bike, and frankly some nice bang for the buck! 

So I took it easy for the first couple hundred miles. I've never broken in a new bike before and really didn't know what to expect. The bike ran decent for the most part, I have a slight backfiring on deceleration, usually a sign the bike is running lean and in need of a carburetor adjustment. About 200 miles into it I began riding it a little harder. Backfiring diminished a bit, and at about 350 miles I took it for a nice 150 mile break ride on some back roads in the country. At 500 miles I did another oil change and a valve adjustment. The bike still has a slight pop on deceleration but nothing to bothersome and  again I'm guessing a carburetor adjustment. 

After the valve adjustment I began riding it fairly normal. For the most part the bike is my daily driver around the city. On the weekends I pull out the cruiser, and use the CSC TT250 for back and forth to work, and also when I feel like having some off road fun. Honestly, I haven't been really abusive with the bike, but I haven't been gentle with it either. 

As far as the bike is concerned it's not super powerful, and it certainly isn't super fast. If you're looking for a fast powerful bike to race on road and off, this isn't your bike. It feels reliable however, and it certainly gets the job done. I love riding it around the city, it's easy to maneuver in traffic, and the gas mileage is absolutely fantastic. Keeping up with traffic isn't an issue off highway, on highway I'd like a little more. However, my top speed is 63 mph and if you're in an area where highway travel is 55, the bike does fine. 

Off road the bike is a joy. It has enough power to get the job done. I've taken it on some pretty serious trails too. The bike seems reliable, and well built. I thought I'd get the impression that the bike would be delicate, but it seems more than capable to handle anything that I throw at it.  Believe me I haven't been gentle with it. 

I haven't done any modding to it yet, but there are a couple things I'd like to change. First and foremost, the rear sprocket. The bike revs at a high rpm on the highway, although not super bothersome. However, lowering the revs with a smaller rear sprocket will probably get better gas mileage, be less abusive on the engine, and also give me that little added speed that I'd like. I've heard folks getting around 75 mph with the 47 tooth sprocket, and that's fast enough to ride anywhere. 

Being a Honda clone I've found no shortage of aftermarket parts either. Currently considering getting a Mikuni carburetor and re-jet kit. I also discovered a nice aftermarket stainless exhaust. I'll probably do these mods over the winter season, and drive it as it is this riding season. 

I absolutely hate the foot pegs. I have big feet, and can't stand the tiny pegs. I've found some nice anodized ones on ebay that I plan on getting soon. After these few mods mentioned, I don't think I'd go overboard changing things up on the bike, it really doesn't need it. 

The tires work great on and off road. Braking is fantastic. I've heard people complain about the headlight, and I find it more than sufficient. I've taken it down more than a few dark country roads too. I also find the stock seat very comfortable. I'd love to find an aftermarket gas tank for it. The bike comes with a standard 2.9 gallon tank, and I'd love a larger tank for longer off road travel! Outside of that, I'm pretty good with just about everything 

At times the engine reminds me of an old fashioned sewing machine. I plan on doing one more valve adjustment before my next long distance trip. I just want to make sure the valves are set at factory specifications. I plan on riding the bike up to Vermont and checking out some of the class 4 back country roads. I'll post more on that in the future as I put the trip together. It's going to be my test run, and probably the deciding factor as to weather or not I consider the bike for a cross country trip. 

I guess to sum this up, I'm really happy with the CSC TT250. The bike has truly exceeded my expectations and for the price I feel it's money well spent. I'll probably post a 1000 mile update on each 1000 miles I put on the bike and keep everyone who's interested informed on any mods I've made, and how the bike holds up over time. Pilot circuit (mixture) screw will fix the backfiring, or shim the jet needle 0.020" if you can. Bikes always come lean from factory to meet emissions, some have a brass plug in the way of adjusting the mixture (it can be removed). 

Only recommendation I have is to keep a close eye on the welds at stress points with the off brand motorcycles, their engines hold up fine but their frames tend to crack at the welds. Nothing that can't be fixed but would make for a bad day if you didn't notice the fracture starting. I have repaired a few bikes with this issue.

Thanks for the tips. I plan on messing with the carb soon. Thinking about a Mikuni with a rejet anyway. They're so cheap it's ridiculous. One of the things I'm starting to really like about this bike. Any parts I've researched are ridiculously cheap. I'll try that pilot circuit screw first though and see if that doesn't fix it. The more I ride it, the less it seems to backfire. 

I took it on some real trails Sunday, and it felt pretty solid. I actually abused it a little more than I would of liked too. I tend to get carried away sometimes when I'm having fun. The first thing I did after I washed it was look for cracked welds. I'll definitely keep that in mind.

Set the screw by sound if it's adjustable. With the bike idling turn it slowly until you find the point at which the bike's idle speed is the highest, leave the screw at that setting and then adjust your idle down to where it should be. It will purr like a kitten. Only caveat is if it's too lean from factory you would have to turn the pilot screw so far out it practically falls out, in which case the jet needle adjustment is the way to go. Most bikes are happy around 2 1/4 to 3 1/2 turns out on the screw with a factory carb. I would definitely recommend the Mikuni carb like you're looking at though, definitely the way to go.

They were really tight. I've heard that's common from the factory. I was actually surprised how tight they were. I adjusted them to factory spec per the manual.

it can be a crapshoot with the chinese bikes, that's why you get the early inspection. As long as they stay put for a while you shouldn't have any thing to worry about
