Feel like I'm on the game show Are You Smarter then a 5th Grader as we start our journey of Homeschooling. My oldest is in 5th grade and while we have always taken a little more proactive approach to our kids education then most parents, homeschooling is a different animal.

We are testing this for at least a month to help offset the slide that we feel happened due to piss poor remote learning during the end of last school year plus the typical summer slide. But considering the district is going remote again we might continue to stick with homeschooling...just not sure how it will play out. 

One big advantage to this is we control the content better. No socialist agenda crap being pumped into the mind of a child. Saves me from having to undo some of the lessons she gets indoctrinated with at school.  Allows for her to advance at a much quicker pace not having to wait around for kids who aren't paying attention or just are having a hard time with a subject. Overall it just allows for some real thinking, questioning of things, and hands on learning. While these things I love, I don't like feeling like this is being forced upon us to give a quality education to our kids. 

Hope this doesn't become our "new normal"
