Boy, is this post spot on. The saying "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink it" has kept coming to mind through the years. As time has been evolving along I've come to realize that the majority of my friends share certain views and beliefs but cannot deviate from them. There's only one friend and one that I've known since 1961 that gets the bigger picture and can adapt to changes, new thoughts and new ways of doing things. At the beginning of last year he confided that I'm the only person that he knows that he can share his views with. Well... cheers to those who are willing to stay aware, question, adapt, grow and prosper even during historically wild times.

Yes, it does feel a bit like the horse to water problem! Though I'm not sure if they can even see the water they have been so very programmed. I was chatting with my mother yesterday and she always laughs when I tell her what I think, because to her it sounds so completely ridiculous. Like you I can think of only one long term friend who I can still talk to honestly. While none of my family are ready to hear what I am saying. Indeed, I feel nothing but excitement! And it has been snowing all night which is even better! A snowy weekend for the kids in the land where we will never see snow again because of global warming ;)
