Everyweek, we scout and share an inspiring environmental music that can inspire and uplift you to go green during the week. At @thegreens, we promote environmental music and so far, we have over 9 songs we have created.
This week, we bring you **Need A Doctor** by Colby and Awu, @thegreens International Ambassadors with whom we have produced over 7 songs. Need a Doctor is the perfect song to use to advocate for environmental and social change.
**Need a Doctor** aims to highlight the various social, environmental, and spiritual diseases that exist in the world, and emphasize the need for a spiritual solution to these problems.

A single moment before, starting to improve the world,

Acts like the world depends on every good thing he does,

Looks upon himself and sees that we are more than just all our colors,

I think it’s time for a check-up, yeah a visit to the doctor,

I’m seeing sickness and disease, like it’s becoming status quo,
We got poverty, people turning to robbery,
To put food up on the table, and seeing that bothers me,
We got terrorism, unhealthy patriotism,
See nothing but criticism when I watch the television,
We got no solidarity, and growing wealth disparities,
Between the poor and those with money and authority,
Got malnutrition, can’t trust our politicians,
Overpopulated prisons, overstocked gun ammunitions,
We got sexism, and complex schisms,
Tryin’ to use my lyricism to bring us some optimism
So, let’s come together, turn our faces to the sky,
Cuz to bring us back to health we’ll need some help from the divine, praying,

Uh, some say that humanity’s a virus,
That mankind has put the world into a crisis,
The environment is sick, it’s got bronchitis,
Seems like our climate’s got a case of meningitis,
I’m talking climate change, environmental degradation,
Dirty drinking water causing death in third-world nations,
Earthquakes and hurricanes bringing devastation,
I think its mother earth communicating her frustration,
Got giant garbage patches floatin’ in the ocean,
And global warming is meltin’ all of our snow man,
Pesticides, we’re killing the butterflies,
Our actions are leading to biological homicide, uh,
We gotta do something to save the forests and the trees,
To save the animals, the rivers, and all of the seas,
So we turn to the Creator, the Supreme Physician,
To God we offer up this prayer, yeah, we hope you’re listenin’,

Yeah, all of this talk of our sickness but what’s the cure?
We gotta turn to the divine, yeah let’s explore,
The fate of the world is connected with the fate of man,
And man is endowed with a spirit, please let me expand,
If people don’t develop morally and spiritually,
Then we’ll continue down this path of sickness, don’t you see?
We gotta focus on our virtues and our values,
If you don’t know any then please let me spit out a few,
I’m talking honesty and honor and integrity,
Faith and forgiveness, courtesy and sensitivity,
Respect, courage, understanding, and truthfulness,
Responsibility, love, and diligence,
Wisdom, tolerance, justice, and humility,
And if we practice these we’ll have peace and tranquility,
Yeah, if we want a better world to last forever more,
We gotta focus on our soul!

# #Call2Action
The Greens is a grassroots environmental organization that strives to educate, inspire and engage young people to take action to combat climate change and be at the forefront of biodiversity conservation and waste management. 

Founded in 2010, @thegreens have been able to use arts, sports, media and ICT to educate and engage more than 10,000 young people in Green Poetry, Green Music, Green Arts, Green Radio, and Conservation Champions League.

Her tree planting programs have seen the organization create 04 Community Tree Nurseries, planted more than 300,000 trees and together with @kedjom-keku we have acquired 1000 hectares of afromontane forest in Kedjom-Keku Village of the Bamenda Highlands of the North West Region of Cameroon for the creation and conservation of Kedjom-Keku Community Forest 

@thegreens is currently engaged in Waste Management (Waste Business Hub); Plastic Waste Upcycling, Tire Upcycling and Textile Waste Recycling via @ecodesigns. 
Her #EndPlasticPollution Campaign has seen the organization sensitize more than 100,000 people about plastic pollution, upcycled more than 10,000 plastic bottles to create UPB Vertical Gardens, UPB Tree Nursery Pots, etc.

Her Textile Recycling Project (@ecodesigns) is currently training 13 young girls for free in textile recycling and fashion designing and has recycled more than 5000 pounds of textile waste.

Her Tire Upcycling Project is educating and engaging young people in schools and communities to #StopBurningTires and upcycle them to create **Mushroom Tire Seats**, **Tire Flower Pots**, etc
