<p>I had this posted before, but in the wrong category, so I was asked to repost it in Upfundme. I realistically would like this fundraiser to earn 500 Steem. To give you an example of expenses, I was asked once to get two genetic tests and I was told it would cost $37,000, The costs have come down, but research costs haven't. If it wasn't for TGEN I would not know what is wrong with my daughter. Thanks to the 26 that voted before<P>
<p>I am the father of a 12 year old girl with a very rare disease. She was diagnosed with Leigh's Syndrome when she was 9 years old. Most kids with Leigh's Syndrome do not live to be 9 years old. My daughter Darien is lucky in that sense, but many kids aren't so lucky. Most people are not aware of this, but "Rare" diseases are not so rare, they just take many different shapes. My daughter Darien is just one of 7 kids in the world with her specific mutation. Because each case is different we have a lot of "rare" diseases, but a lot of these diseases are rare. Luckily their are non-profits that do this research, but this research is expensive and requires the help of the community.
