I'm feeling Halloweeny and what better way to celebrate than by participating in <a href="http://steemit.com/@jayna">@jayna’s</a> fifty word <a href="http://https://steemit.com/challenge/@jayna/fifty-wordstorychallengefunwritingopportunity-8mugjgabaz" title="story challenge">story challenge</a>.

This time the prompt was “pumpkin.” Some will tell you they know full well the true origins of Halloween. I hope this story proves that in reality we rarely know as much as we think we do.
