Haha, seriously though, this place and the community is among some of the most awesome I have yet to find. My advice to you would be to do your own thing, be a friend, and when you get discouraged (if you ever do) find someone with advice, to lift you up, don't just give up, not that you would.

Thanks man.  Yeah.  I haven't put my finger on why I'm not jaded on this site, as I am with most other social media.  Maybe it's the overt nature of what's being done here.  Everyone is sort of out to make money and you know it, so you can prepare yourself for it. Whereas with something like reddit the money making is very subversive.  

Great place to talk and meet people though. Looking forward to a long and storied career.

Absolutely, on that note here is my personal experience.

Someone told me about this sight, and about how "I could make money for posting". They aren't active anymore here. In fact, a lot of the people I joined with aren't active anymore. Their accounts are even worth a lot less than mine.

"Why?" Well, I came here for the $$$ but feel in love with the community, fell for the people, and started building relationships. Talking to people building my circle, even though it is a slow pace, it is a steady one. I found joy and happiness in what I began to do and therefore it gave me a better drive than my peers.

I hope you understand what I am trying to say and develop your own passion for the community here. The true value of STEEM and steemit lies within the people here.
