I remember seeing this a few years back on Top Gear, I thought it was crazy that they could basically steal a design, but as they mentioned on Top Gear, they also do it with sunglasses, purses, etc, so its not just cars.

They could basically make better designs and cars if they would not be demand for copycat stuff. They can be lazy and still make a nice profits.
