The beginning of another year of busy schedules, homework, requirements, recitals... My heart bleeds just thinking about the year ahead! . . . . Okay, I'm just kidding. But, seriously, as a music student, there's no such thing as a holiday, to tell the truth. Even vacations are set as time for practice or performances. (Though, I try to run away from practice when I can, but now I can't and shouldn't be doing it anyway...) In a sense, I did look forward to classes beginning again. There were friends I wanted to see, as well as I felt kind of like a dull zombie throughout the summer, except when I went on trips. At least studying won't leave me bored enough to tackle dramas with a ton of episodes... Anyway! The picture for today was taken when we had our first forum of the semester. This is one of those classes that every music student has to take as long as you haven't graduate (yep, even when you've been around for more than six , seven years). This class time is spent on meetings about departmental stuff, music lectures, master classes, and such. In the photo is one of our teachers and our department dean (the tiny lady in blue). The teacher, whose name is Winner, yes, his name is truly Winner (not joking at all). He was asked to give a short motivational speech since he'll be leaving the school for a couple of years to pursue higher education. We'll miss, he's an excellent, if a little bit eccentric, educator. He's the type of person that's a straight shooter, someone who believes that being politically correct is not quite helpful (which means that he's pretty direct all of the time). Students approach him when they need advice, academic or life, and also visit his house when they're looking for snacks（＞ｙ＜） And our dean, she's a really inspiring person. Really. Small but terrible, in a good way. (I believe I wrote a post about her a few months back.) Well, all of our teachers are pretty good people, which make our department a warm one.
