Hello steemians out there, this is my entry to the #100daysofsteem Monday Challenge by @steemitblog titled [Who's playing the diary game in your country](https://steemit.com/the100daysofsteem/@steemitblog/100-days-of-steem-day-81-monday-challenge-who-s-playing-the-diary-game-in-your-country) - Nigeria. In this challenge, I am expected to carry out the tasks outlined below:

>- Introduce yourself through making comments to the other people in your country who are playing The Diary Game.
>- By reading their posts see if you can discover other people near you in your town, city or state.
>- Make a post with ideas of how you could recruit more people to join The Diary Game in your country.

For the first task, I reached out to Nigerian steemians who are playing the diary game. I commented on their most recent diary game posts. I dropped encouraging comments on their diary posts, and for those who seem to have stopped writing for a while, I encouraged them to resume posting their diary game posts. While reading the diary game posts of these Nigerian steemians, I discovered that @greatness96 invited his friends/co-workers to steem. These are the users @stephen96 (who has submitted his [introductory post](https://steemit.com/hive-111069/@stephen96/my-first-post-on-steem-i-m-introducing-myself)) and @etiufan, who is yet to make his first post. We anticipate that with the right motivation, these two will find it amazing here, and they will soon join the diary game.

### Ideas on How I Will Recruit More People to Join the Diary Game in Nigeria
They say the more, the merry. It will be so much fun if more people from Nigeria are able to join the diary game, as this will give a wider knowledge of people's lifestyle in the major parts of the country. My best approach to recruiting more people from Nigeria will be with the use of social media messaging platforms like whatsapp and telegram. 

People are able to respond to this kind of invitation when they are dealt with individually rather than posting on a public domain (it's my opinion though), because personally, I will give more attention to someone who discusses with me personally than one who just drops it on social media. Personal chats and status updates are very effective ways of passing messages across to people.

I also belong to a number of whatsapp groups having members who have taken a break from steem. I am also doing my bit in encouraging some of them to return to their first love (lol). This is gradually yielding some good results, which will be evident soon.

### Challenges of Writing a Quality Diary Game Post in this Part of the World
If you have checked through a number of diary posts written by Nigerians, you would discover that some of those posts are lacking the essentials of what makes a quality diary post. This is not because theses steemians are not being creative enough, but because of some challenges associated with this environment. I will discuss two major challenges in this post.

1 Posting Pictures. A picture is worth a thousand words. Pictures are essential parts of a good diary post, as it gives the reader a good view of what your words are describing. For example, there is no way you would describe to someone a festival you attended, without including pictures, so he/she has a visual representation of your descriptions. In this part of the world however, there is a limitation to how freely one can take pictures or record videos in public.

Apart from looking weird when taking pictures/videos in public, it is sometimes seen as a security threat in some neighborhoods or some corporate environments. This could make diary game posts of Nigerian steemians have lesser pictures than expected.

2 Another challenge is for people whose lives run almost like a programmed robot. This refers to people who run almost the same schedule everyday. It becomes uninteresting describing the same events everyday. Being a developing nation, we have quite a number of such people in this part of the world. People who are less adventurous, or who are busy exploring means of livelihood rather than spending on picnics, vacations, travels, and such adventures, which make for a great diary post.

Above all, I am excited with the diary game initiative, and I can't wait to see what the next phase holds, as the number of participants keep increasing, especially from Nigeria.</div>
