Celtic's Green Brigade Disgraced Their War Heroes
<center>https://www.tr.news/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/IrishBritish.png</center> <br/><h3><strong>It was a bitterly cold remembrance Sunday, Celtic were playing Motherwell and as usual Celtic's Green Brigade disgraced their war heroes.</strong></h3>
<h4><strong>Green Brigade - A Chromosome Short Of A Simpleton</strong></h4>
On a bitterly cold day at Parkhead, Celtic's <strong>"Green Brigade"</strong> stayed outside while a <strong>"remembrance event"</strong> took place to honour the fallen, you know, those brave men who went to war so we can live as a free people in a free nation. Well once the remembrance event had finished and the game kicked off, the Green Brigade were heard chanting <strong>"stick your fucking poppy up your arse"</strong> which inevitably caused an uproar.

To be fair to some Celtic fans, even ones who aren't exactly<strong> "Pro-British"</strong>, they rightly booed the Green Brigade. The vast majority of Motherwell fans also booed during the disgraceful chant, perhaps that represents a very much <strong>"alive and kicking"</strong> sectarian divide, the sort that plagued the North and South of Ireland in recent history.

<h4><strong>Historically Chromosomally Challenged</strong></h4>
During 1914 Ireland was part of the United Kingdom and that was the very year that Prime Minister Herbert Asquith <strong>declared war on Germany:</strong>
<blockquote><strong>"Owing to the summary rejection by the German Government of the request made by His Majesty's Government for assurances that the neutrality of Belgium would be respected, His Majesty's Ambassador in Berlin has received his passport, and His Majesty's Government has declared to the German Government that a state of war exists between Great Britain and Germany as from 11pm on August 4th."</strong>
</blockquote>
<a href="https://www.tr.news/we-will-always-remember-them/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">We posted an article yesterday</a> paying tribute to all our war veterans as well as those currently serving in our Armed Forces, and rightly so, Lest We Forget! In that article, we mentioned a Canadian, John McCrae, who served as a brigade surgeon for an Allied artillery unit during the second battle of Ypres, his poem <strong>"In Flanders Fields"</strong> is revered as it captures the significance of sacrifice, honour and remembrance.

The Green Brigade know very little about history, very little about honour and an awful lot about disgracing their fellow Irishmen. During the outbreak of war around 30,000 Irish men were serving in the British Army, one of those men serving was Lieutenant Neville Woodroffe of the 1st Irish Guards, he was killed in the first battle of Ypres.

You can read about him and more <a href="https://www.iwm.org.uk/history/irelands-role-in-the-first-world-war" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>HERE.</strong></a>

During the course of the war, it is estimated that around 210,000 Irishmen served in the British Army. They represented vast diverse swathes of Ireland in the North, and in the South. Below you can see a video of <strong>"Dubliners"</strong> celebrating Armistice Day at the end of the war.

<h4><strong>Irish War Heros Return To Persecution</strong></h4>
Irishmen who fought with and for the United Kindom during the <strong>"Great War"</strong> returned to a hostile country. The Irish war of independence had started on January 21st, 1919 when a brigade of Irish volunteers shot dead two Royal Irish Constabulary officers at Soloheadbeg just outside Tipperary. Anti-British sentiment grew while hundreds of thousands of Irishmen were fighting the Germans in Europe.

The political situation in Ireland made returning Irish soldiers lives absolute hell on earth. In garrison towns such as Tralee, Nenagh and Maryborough, ex-British servicemen made up 20 per cent of the population. William Redmond, the son of the Irish Party leader, said, ex-British servicemen (he was one himself) and their dependants were estimated at around half a million people. Although some first world war veterans did indeed join what eventually became the IRA, many did not. Many Irish first world war veterans returned home to find a different Ireland, many of whom were shot dead by the IRA.

You can read more about the suffering and persecution of Irish WW1 veterans when they returned <strong>"home"</strong> by <a href="https://www.irishtimes.com/culture/heritage/ireland-s-first-world-war-veterans-shunned-ostracised-murdered-1.3691036" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>clicking HERE.</strong></a>

So much was the hatred for the British, the IRA had envoys who collaborated with Hitlers Nazi Germany as early as 1936. Sean Russell, the IRA chief of staff ( 1926-1936) had an agreement with Nazi Germany, the IRA would co-operate with the Germans in any military conflicts they found themselves in. This was not the first time the British hating Irish collaborated with Germans. During the first world war as Ireland was becoming politically unstable, the precursors to the IRA, the Irish Republican Brotherhood and a splinter group of the IVF (Irish Volunteer Force) were to be supplied with German weapons to fight the British in Ireland in the Easter rising of 1916. The anti-British Irish have a strong history of collaborating with Britains enemies.

You can read more about that <a href="https://www.historyireland.com/20th-century-contemporary-history/oh-heres-to-adolph-hitler-the-ira-and-the-nazis/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>HERE</strong></a> and <a href="https://www.wesleyjohnston.com/users/ireland/past/history/19141919.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>HERE.</strong></a>

<center> <img class="size-full wp-image-7376" src="https://www.tr.news/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/HitlerMufti.png" alt="Hitler And Palestinian Grand Mufti Haj Amin el Husseini" width="702" height="525" /><br/></a> Hitler And Palestinian Grand Mufti Haj Amin el Husseini</center>

Hitler was an enemy of Britain, he made use of the Palestinian Grand Mufti Haj Amin el Husseini who said that the Germans and the Arabs had the same enemies: <strong>"the English, the Jews, and the Communists."</strong> So when we see photos of Celtics IRA loving Anti-British <strong>"Green Brigade"</strong> waving Palestinian flags at football matches should we be surprised?

<center> <img class="size-full wp-image-7380" src="https://www.tr.news/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Respect.png" alt="Gren Brigade Supporting Terrorism" width="922" height="520" /><br/></a> The Green Brigade Respecting The Palestinian Flag</center>

The British hating Irish have a sordid history of siding with Germany as well as international terrorist organisations and groups. They do all of this while simutaniously desecrating the memories and the sacrifices of their Irish forefathers who fought <strong>WITH</strong> the British in the <strong>"Great War"</strong> <strong>AGAINST</strong> the Germans. Its not unusual to hear chants of <strong>"stick your fucking poppy up your arse"</strong> from those who are a chromosome short of stupid because they are too wrapped up in their hatred of Britain to even consider the sacrifices of their own and what that sacrifice actually meant.

The passion, the commitment, the love and the respect that we show to our war dead which <strong>INCLUDES </strong>Irishmen who made the ultimate sacrifice, is something we should all be proud of.

A picture paints a million words......

You say that looking at it from an English point of view but the reality of the situation is that in a lot of areas the British army is seen as a weapon one of the cruelest and most despicable regimes to ever exist. Committing atrocities from Ireland to America, extending into Africa, Australia and India.

The British army has commited just as many crimes as the Germans did over their existence. In the north they were still doing this up until a few years ago and nobody from those areas could support these acts or the people behind them. There is also lot of history from before WW1 and WW2. Even then many irish soldiers were conscripted into the british army on pain of eviction, jail, poverty and whatever coercion was need to fill the ranks.

The poppy is a symbol of remembrance for british soldiers that have died in all wars and over here they are still considered to be the enemy and an occupying force in the north of the country. It's a symbol of a group of murderers and innocent blood spilled so I can see where they are coming from.

You have written a good article here with some interesting and correct facts which is refreshing to see but what you can't include is the historical context that goes before it. British soldiers have done terrible things on this Island and the poppy is not welcome here as it is a symbol of all their bloodshed. Scotland have a long history with England too and celtic being an Irish Scotland link would have that running through their fan base.

For whatever reason English people seem to have some madness over the poppy and people not wearing them but you also have huge blindspots in your knowledge. You are only taught the british perspective of your proud heritage and honorable soldiers but that is a long way from the truth.
