[일상] 중고나라 매각
네이버 최대 중고거래 사이트인 중고나라가 매각되었습니다.

중고나라의 지난해 매출은 5조원. 뭘 팔기에 이렇게 매출이 많을까요?
인수가는 지분 95% 에 1150원 수준이라고 합니다. 매수 주체는 유진자산운용이고 롯데쇼핑에서 300억원을 투자하였다고 합니다. 하지만 롯데에서 이번 딜의 재무적 투자자에 대한 우선매수권을 행사할 수 있어서 롯데가 인수하였다고 보시면 됩니다.

그런데 롯데에서 왜 중고나라를 인수했을까요? 그동안 롯데가 e커머스가 약했는데, 이를 보완하기 위함으로 보입니다만, 중고나라는 성격이 조금 달라서 의외이기는 합니다.

하지만 중고나라의 매출액과 고객 수를 생각하면 1150억이면 싸게 인수한 것 같습니다. 이정도 사이트를 1150억에 만들 수 있을지 생각해보면 계산이 나오죠.

현재 중고나라의 회원 수는 2330만명, 코로나 덕분에 지난해 매출 5조원을 돌파하며 전년 대비 43%의 성장률을 보였다고 합니다.  이 수치를 보면 왜 이렇게 싸게 팔았는지 그 배경이 의심스럽기는 합니다. 암튼 롯데 입장에서는 잘 산것 같습니다. 

롯데쇼핑이 지난해 출범한 통합 온라인몰 '롯데온'과 비교해도 중고나라의 성장세는 대단합니다. 롯데 통합 쇼핑몰임에도 지난 해 매출은 16조761억원이었다고 하니 중고나라가 엄청나게 성장을 하고 있기는 합니다.

반면에 중고거래라는 이미지가 롯데의 고급화 이미지(?)와는 동떨어져서 과연 시너지 효과가 있을지는 의문입니다. 경영진의 깊은 뜻을 헤아릴 수는 없지만,  막 지른 듯한 느낌도 지울 수 없습니다.

현재 이베이가 매물로 나와있는데요.  롯데가 이베이에도 관심이 있다고 합니다.

이베이코리아 매각 예상가는 약 5조.  이베이코리아가 운영하는 G마켓·옥션 등을 모두 사는 가격이므로, 이 또한 비싸지는 않습니다. 

이베이코리아 가격을 보면 중고나라가 또 싸보입니다. 매출은 5배차이인데, 가격은 50배.
이베이는 많이 비싼 느낌. 중고나라는 거저라는 느낌적인 느낌입니다.

앞으로 뭔가 변화를 보여주려는 롯데가 어떻게 변신을 할지 지켜봅시다.
