Traveling the World #48 (Europe Series) Rossio Square & Baixa District - Lisbon @ Portugal 🇵🇹 - 向世界出發 #48 (歐洲系列) - 羅西烏廣場 & 龐巴爾下城 @ 里斯本, 葡萄牙 🇵🇹
Hi Steemians,

Today we will continue our trip around Lisbon stopping at Rossio Square and Baixa District. Both locations are close to each other and are a favourite amongst tourists. Rossio Square is considered the central of Lisbon city and Rossio Square is the major hub for plazas, shopping, restaurants and many hotels.

Lets stop at Rossio Square first. The square is the heart of the city and the locals are very proud of this square. It is also a very popular meeting place for locals and tourists like myself. It is also a busy hub for the trains and buses going into town.

The wave pattern tiles were to resembled the ocean and the fountain in the middle of the square is said to be King Pedro IV.

Next stop will be Baixa District. The district is the centre of Lisbon and is connected to many parts of the city. From Baixa it is a short walk to Alfama the beautiful district which I introduced a few days ago. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants for you to choose from so there are heaps of variety.

Within Baixa district, there is the The Praça do Comércio which is a massive plaza facing the river in Lisbon. This area was used for traders where they would sell their goods in the old times. The view here was spectacular.

Great shots, how good is Portugal. We spent 3 weeks roadtripping earlier this year and can't wait to go back. Our favourite part was the Alentej coast just up from Sagres. Some amazing beaches!
