My first time- Sri Lanka near 2 years ago

It's been a long time, two years, since I saw palm trees on my approach to this island. Somehow it was different. Different than usual. That's what my feeling told me. And so it was.

The beach was not the most beautiful, my experience also said that there is never the most beautiful beach near the airports. But I wasn't looking for that either and didn't look for it.

When I arrived I didn't know what to expect.

-I had to travel over 5000 kilometres through the country, which is only 480 kilometres high and 300 kilometres wide.

-To have spent over 1 year already there and it becomes daily more.

-To meet the friendliest people on my journey

-To love it and hate it, but hate isn't quite true. It is like a partnership. The sun doesn't always shine there either.

-My daughter has spent half her life there so far.

-The country has more climate zones than almost any other country in the world.

-The visa can be extended up to 6 months without any problems.

-We are now about to shoot a documentary about the country and these people.

I didn't know all that. It comes differently as you think, but rarely different than the feeling it tells you.

Es ist lange her, schon 2 Jahre, als beim Anflug auf diese Insel ich fast nur Palmen gesehen habe. Irgendwie war es anders. Anders als sonst. Das sagte mir mein Gefühl. Und so war es auch.

Der Strand war nicht der schönste, meine Erfahrung sagte auch, dass es in der nähe der Flughäfen nie den schönsten Strand gibt. Aber darauf bin ich auch nicht aus gewesen und habe es auch nicht gesucht.

Bei Ankunft wusste ich nicht was auf mich zukommen wird.

-Über 5000 Kilometer durch das Land zu reisen, welches nur 480kilometer Hoch und 300 kilometer breit ist.

-Insgesammt über 1 Jahr schon dort verbracht zu haben und es wird täglich mehr.

-Die freundlichsten Menschen meienr Reise zu treffen

-Es zu lieben und zu hassen, wobei hassen nicht ganz stimmt. Es ist wie eine eine Partnerschaft. Da scheint auch nciht immer die Sonne.

-Meine Tochter die Hälfte ihres Lebens dort bisher verbracht hat.

-Das Land mehr Klimazonen hat, wie kaum ein anderes Land dieser Welt.

-Das Visum probemlos bis zu 6 Monate verlängert werden kann.

-Wir nun dabei sind einen Dokumentarfilm über das Land und diese Menschen zu drehen.

All das hatte ich nicht gewusst. Es kommt anders wie man annimmt, jedoch selten anders als das Gefühl es einen sagt.
