Time, the boogieman - Use it wisely!
One of the hardest things to manage in my life is time. I am sure I am not the only one who has problems with this. A lot of times I have my days full with plans that have to be done, what I want to achieve in a day, but a lot of times it just doesn't go the way I originally planned, and at the end of the day, I feel disappointed, knowing that I should have been able to do so much more.

![Paradise.png](https://files.steempeak.com/file/steempeak/unbiasedwriter/Q5KYrekQ-Paradise.png)

So how should I have done it better? How could I be more effective? How can I use my time better? How should I manage my time and myself better?

## Keys to efficiency

I think one of the keywords to be more effective with your time is to be conscious when you remind yourself of one thing a day, that should be it. But what do I mean by that?

When you are self-aware, you know exactly what your mean goals are. When you are conscious you have the power and the decision to shape your days how it is the most profitable for you. When you are sure about your self, your values, what is important, what you would like to achieve in a day, and longterm in your life, you will be no longer a passive part of your own life, but you will be the leader of your own destiny.

## How to organize your time?
There is always something to do, there isn't a day when there is absolutely nothing you have to or you should do. I bet you have a list of things that has to be done. The question is if you can make a difference between the truly important things and unnecessary things.

So how can you use your time better? You have to concentrate on the prior, the most important things, those that will bring you closer to your main goals.

For example, when you are a student at a university, the most important thing is that you regularly study, that you do your homework, that you prepare yourself for the lessons, that you are present and you do what you have to do to get the best notes. When you do that, you will be a step closer to what you would like to reach, because every day you can do something to bring your dreams just a little bit closer.

How can I be so strong, you might ask, and my answer is still the same, being conscious is the key. Do not let your feelings, the current situation, the weather, or other persons influence what you achieve in a day. You are the one who has the responsibility and the power to manage your own life. Do not give the power to the things that aren't important, be self-aware, think about your aims, that are only waiting for you to be effective to get them.

Do not sacrifice your dreams to the current emotions and conditions, think big, imagine how good you will feel afterward when you manage to keep control over yourself, your feelings and thoughts. This power will push you over the hard times and will make it easier to keep going.

When you are aware of your own goals, it will be so much easier to plan what you want to do in a day, because you will want to do the urgent things, the things that bring you closer to your main goal, whatever it is.

## So what kind of characteristics can help you organize your time better?

You have to be consistent, you have to know exactly what you want to achieve, how you want to do that, in other words, your values and your goals. You have to have an exact plan and a vision of your dreams. You have to have balance in your life, you have to know what important is and what are the things that can wait.

You also have to be flexible, when something does not go the way you want it to, you have to be flexible and able to plan again and to be capable to adapt to a situation. You have to trust yourself, that you are absolutely capable of reaching your dreams, you just have to be patient with yourself and keep your eyes on your goal.

## How to say no?
I think I can tell that a lot of us have a problem with saying no. Personally I do not like to say that word, it is uncomfortable, I do not intend to hurt or reject anyone with saying no, but I have the feeling that I have to say yes to keep the peace. But what I always have to keep reminding myself of is that is actually nothing bad to say no. Saying no is also something that we have to learn because if you don't do that, you will be really vulnerable.

If you can't say no, then you will always end up doing something you did not want to or planned to. I don't say that you shouldn't do favors, but you have to find the balance, because when you always say yes, maybe you won't have time for the other things that are in fact important when you have your certain plans.

Keeping the balance and reminding yourself of your priorities will help you decide what to do. You do not have to feel bad when you can't do anything. You have to decide is the most important, and I have to say it again, you have to be self-aware and judge if you do something or not, because you are the boss of your own life, you manage your own life and you know better than anyone else what needs to be done in order to reach your goals.

I know it can be hard to spend your time right, but that is what life is all about. We all have 24-hour days, and we are responsible for how we use our hours and days.

The way time moves is really alarming, this morning I plan to finish my house chores at 09:00am and by the time I checked the time, it was 09:25 I was very angry with myself but I will just try better methods to be efficient.

Man, I feel with you. When I get up, I have a clear plan, but if I am supposed to be finished with a task at 9.00, I normally haven't even started with it yet by then. Suddenly Steem comes at me, and I just have to read an article, post some comments, vote, and so... and time has been flying away. Discipline is for sure needed! :)

Time is precious and we need to learn how to manage it. A concept to know the things to do, the ones to give out for someone to do for us, the ones to remove from our todo. This concept will always work to manage our time and todos.

It helps a lot, and is related to knowing when to say yes and no. You cannot do too much yourself, and that is why you need to say no to a couple of things and either skip it totally, or delegate it to someone else!

Saying No is becoming very difficult for most people but if we really want to manage our time then we must learn to say No to the things we will not do.

Hmmm... This actually made me remember one of Muhammed Ali's quote when he said that "he who wants to enjoy life should always engage in time management".

This is really very educative and I've really learnt a lot from your write up and I hope to make some adjustment in my personal lifestyle such as saying NO when necessary.

Thanks for sharing this great post with love from @hardaeborla and I hope you have a great day ahead
