## Music for Sunday Purple
Dearest Steemians, here come a *different* submission for **SundayPurple** today's theme of the colorchallenge by @kalemandra - no purple photography but purple music. Hope it counts and you like it.

### Purple Rain - Prince
One of the best musicians of the pop area - we all miss him - Prince! He created innovation in music and the entertainment industry. **Purple Rain** was a song, a movie and also the name of his sixth studio album - the first to feature his band the Revolution in the title. The album was released in June 1984 and included a lot more chart breakers incl. *"When Doves Cry" and "Let's Go Crazy"*.

The song itself was original composed by Prince in a collaboration with Stevie Nicks - female singer of Fleetwood Mac - as a country song. The meaning of the title according to the artist:

## Purple Rain - der etwas andere Color Challenge Post
Heute mal ein Stück Musikgeschichte für die lila Color Challenge mit dem Werk *"Purple Rain"* - ein Song, ein Album sowie ein Film, alles vom unvergesslichen Prince! Er war ein herausragender Musiker und Künstler. Es gibt wenige von seiner Sorte, die Innovation vorantreiben, über Grenzen denken und Neues schaffen.

Ich denke wir alle sind uns einig, dass Prince einer der vielseitigsten Musiker aller Zeiten war - Purple markierte seinen internationalen Durchbruch als Entertainer, nicht nur Musiker. Über die tatsächliche Bedeutung des Titels wird noch immer gerätselt, eventuell trifft am ehesten die von Prince geäußerte Story oben, aber viele zweifeln noch dran. Es wird wohl ein ewiges Mysterium bleiben.
