When I joined steem, the first way I earned attention was by engaging the posts of other. It happens everywhere that nobody tends to notice a new user to a platform except he's a celebrity whose Onboarding was awaited. It therefore takes a deliberate effort of contributing value to be able to stand out.

I remember that it was through insightful comments that got great steemians like @surpassinggoogle @mermaidvampire and others to visit my blog for the first time. I deliberately devoted quality time to read understand and drop an insightful comment on the post of others and that way, I earned traction to my blog.

Today, it's sad that many steemians just come to make a post or probably do an autoposting command. Nobody cares to read what others are posting and probably drop a meaningful comment to spice up a conversation. 

I tell you the truth that engagement is what makes steem a social platform and that's where we draw the fun. Thanks to @whatsup that thought about #milkandtators challenge where steemians were called to startup engagement.

It's cool, we want to make money but we ain't gonna lose the beauty of engagement. You know many prefer to waste their data on Facebook because they are sure they'll get "like" and other forms of engagement which funs their heart.

May we not become victims of depression because all we seek from Steem is money. Steem is first a place of Content before we can earn.

If there were no content creators, then holding big stakes of Steem would be meaningless.
