 I took a nice afternoon hike at Jacks Peak the other day. It has some nice trails through forests and overlooks of Monterey Bay. I hiked into the park from the parking spots on the side of the road down the hill from the park entrance booth. Apparently there are mountain lions and black bears in the area but I didn't see any, just a rabbit. I did see some scat though, not sure if it was mountain lion.
